Do we really keep up with the news ??

Do people who work at a full time job ,really have time for anything else ? Perhaps they are even ignorant of the news or what's going on in the world . They seldom know anything outside of their profession , they are so caught up with working , back home it's just dinner some tv and bed because the  next day it's work again . That is a sad thing , when your life becomes centered around your job , often family and children news in the world takes a back seat .
It 's just something I thought about , as I was chatting with a friend today at dinner . The subject came up about the USA having it's first Ebola victim . The man had returned from a trip to West Africa and upon feeling ill , he went to the Hospital and mentioned to the nurse ,that he just returned from West Africa and was feeling ill ..Obviously she is a very busy nurse and works alot , so probably never knew of the seriousness of the diseases Ebola in West Africa . She more than likely missed all the news and tv programmes about what was happening in the world. Yeah a real shame :( but being overworked ,stressed and day to day life ,cause this kind of lax . Now more people I believe and children who he came in contact with ,could be affected ... this is a tragedy .
I think people should work less, pay more attention to things happening in the world and maybe the world will improve . Reading should be encouraged and more communication can make huge differences . I once had a partner who worked in Psychiatry , his life revolved around his work and he had no time for anything else . He never went to the movies , because James Bond didn't interest him , nor did anything Star Wars or Star Trek , or for that matter any Superhero stuff . I was so appalled , all that was what I loved . Did he have time for the news yes ,only at the weekend ..where a very concise version is telecast ! Newspapers well for most part I saw the sports part concentrated on  :) Hhmm he could be brilliant at his job but I think anyone focusing on his work alone is lacking , and lacking a whole deal in being a complete fun , and knowledgeable person .
So wherever you are in your day , hope your smiling and taking time out to know more stuff that's going on in the world and making a tiny bit of difference ..#peace&love
