Six Of The Best Mascaras Recommended!

Everybody loves a good Mascara. Unless you're sporting some gorgeous fake eyelashes which is really not my thing. The glue goes everywhere, the lashes, well, it's always too big for my eyes and I have to clip them to size so fake eyelashes, well I give them a miss. I do love a good mascara though. Always looking for the best!

Often I'm in the shop and there is so much choice for mascaras, and it's not like you can try them all out there you only have two eyes ;) So I always ask friends, girls hanging around - what's their best mascara?

I have managed to make a list of a couple of the best mascaras around, that promise to give you big fat lashes and they do a pretty damn good job.. Applause!!

Some are a bit pricey but even if it costs a bit, you could use it for a good 3 months so it works out a bargain! I'll start with some of the more expensive ones and go down to the cheaper ones but they all work a treat for whatever your budget!

1. Nars Audacious Mascara for 20 pounds . The brush sports shorter bristles as well as longer ones , which help catch every single eyelash . It lengthens rather than fattens but gives a very clean finish .

2. Lancome Hypnose Volume-A-Porter at 22 pounds . It separates the lashes beautifully , the result is huge fanned out glossy lashes that don't smudge . Great buy !

3. Clinique Chubby Lash Fattening Mascara is 17.50 ( pounds) . Although the brush has short bristles , the wand delivers super sized multi-layered lashes . It's a classic in the making .

4. Max Factor Velvet Volume False Lash effect Mascara is an affordable 11.99 ( pounds ) I personally love Max Factor and this comes in a velvety mousse formula and turns the lashes big and supple . Very good natural look !

5. Maybelline The Colossal Chaotic Lash is only 7.99 ( pounds ) It doesn't immediately give you the fat lash look , it needs to be layered up but it does eventually deliver the large spidery lashes it promised .

6. Mua Extreme Curl Mascara is a very cheap 3.99 ( pounds ) shapes lashes beautifully from root to tip , and although you need to build up layers it's a very good buy for that price . I always keep one in my bag to top up my lashes on the go :)

Day 5: An Antioxidant Face Mask To Brighten Aging Skin!

Happy Wednesday,

Day five of the wonderful face masks, nourishing and moisturizing our face and giving us a well needed glow! We have had not much summer sun to brighten our lives nor get that sun tan  which we so badly need in the current gloom of the country! Britain and the USA are in a race to see who can fuck themselves up the most. Britain is in the lead, but America has the Trump card! So we continue with our lives all the racist propaganda going around the country , is a sad reality and makes me frightened. Tolerance which was once a quality that made me very proud of Britain, is now making me sad I have British roots. We should look kindly upon everyone and love our fellow humans. We have only one earth and we all are brothers and sisters. Our religions teach us to love one another and having a religion, is to be enriched in life. So be proud of who you are and cherish your life.

Enjoy your summer days and make time to spoil and pamper yourself with this face mask!

Day 4: Yogurt, Oatmeal Face Mask!

Happy Monday!

The beginning of a new week and only England could make an exit twice out of Europe in the same week! Yes, England lost to Iceland today a humiliating defeat. I doubt they tried. Everyone says Iceland is cheap, but Joe Hart didn't save anything :( With Brexit in the news and markets so volatile, and the government unstable, why at this point is the labour party making problems for Jeremy Corbyn? Stand behind your leader and a word of advice: at least he's not deserting a sinking ship (with all the resignations!), and is a good person to stand if any new general elections come around.

Here is a good oatmeal mask to help you achieve good, clear skin! As it helps exfoliate the dead skin cells and renew the texture. Honey helps to moisturize the skin. Enjoy the face mask!

Yogurt, Oatmeal and honey face mask.

Don't worry too much about the situation that has been handed to us by the mass population, dissatisfied with the country's politics. We shall hope that people still have rights and no racism will be tolerated.

Have an awesome day and keep smiling!

Banana Face Mask! Day 3

Happy Saturday!

Yesterday, we all woke up to shock news (I stayed up the entire night to see the counting of the votes!) and with a 52% majority, the English people voted to leave the EU. I say the English people because Scotland and Northern Ireland voted to stay ''IN" with majority! Nigel Farage celebrated with joy at one point in his victory speech, he tailed and it looked like he lost the plot (I almost thought he would rip off his shirt and say I'm Superman, I can fly!). Boris Johnson who campaigned was another story! There is a saying, ''If we are victorious in one more battle.. we shall be utterly ruined.'' Boris Johnson's ''pyrrhic victory'' the kind of victory won at such cost, that you almost wish you'd lost. So instead of crowing, come Friday morning he didn't look like a man whose plan was victorious. He looked more like a king unable to take much more victories!

Now in all the turmoil, time to relax back and enjoy some beauty time. Get this face mask on and forget all the stupidity that exists and find some inner peace with meditation and 'me' time! Let Boris and Mr. Gove go to Brussels and do all the exit talks!

Banana Face Mask! For all skin types. This will give you a healthy glow.
Remember to do a patch test before you put the mask onto your face.

Ingredients:
1. 1 Banana
2. Orange juice
2. Honey

Instructions:
1. Mash one half of the banana until smooth.
2. Mix in a tablespoon of orange juice and one tablespoon of honey
3. Apply to the face, keep mixture on for 10-15 min.
4. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

Peace & Love is the way forward! Stop Racism!

Have an awesome day and keep smiling.

Face Masks Day 2: Avocado And Honey Mask!

Happy Wednesday!

Tomorrow Britain goes to the polls for the Referendum vote. So it's a big, big day. Every person with any good in their hearts will vote for the better of their children and future generations. That being Vote Remain, together we stand strong. The younger people want a more united Europe, as we are leaving the world a lot sooner than the younger generation. Vote with your younger family in mind. University fees in England cost the earth. Younger people want a choice of being able to choose a University in Europe for a lot less than in England. The vote is not about immigration, or people from other parts of the world taking your job for a rip-off salary. Somebody needs to do these jobs and there are a number of people ready to take them on! No, they are helping grow the economy and make Britain a better place! Vote remain. Do the good that you have in your hearts so that the circus of Boris Johnson can leave town soon!

RIP Jo Cox. Today would have been her 42nd birthday, and my thoughts + prayers are with her children and family.

Enjoy this face mask and stay blessed. Make the right choice!

3. Rinse your face with cool water.

Face Masks Day 1: Banana, Honey, Lemon Mask!

Happy Tuesday!

A nice cool glass of wine and a quote from Dan Aykroyd comes to mind, ''Wine represents to me sharing and good times and a celebration of life. It is always around happy occasions with family and friends and centered around joy. What better item to be involved in then something that represents all these wonderful things.''

As I sip my wine, Yes, I am a sipper - I'm relaxing and I have a face mask on! Yes, I like to take care of my face a couple of times a month I shall use a face mask. Today and the rest of the week I shall share my favorite face masks for you to try out and enjoy.

Remember to do a skin-patch test before you decide to put the face mask on.

Banana, honey, and lemon mask. Nourishes the skin and exfoliates dead skin cells. Perfect for oily skin.

Ingredients:
1. 1/2 banana
2. 1 tsp. honey
3. A few drops of lemon juice

Instructions:
Mix all the ingredients until it's a smooth paste. Apply to the face, avoiding the eye area. Keep on for 10-15 min. Rinse with cool water. Use this face mask once a week.

Taking care of yourself is one of the basic steps to better self-esteem and self worth. Remember the Maybeline slogan, ''I'm worth it''? Though I think I'm definitely worth more than a 10 pound mascara lol..

Have an awesome day and keep smiling!

Fashionable Summer Accessories!

Happy Monday!

Today is the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. The weather of course was abysmal and it rained and rained the whole day. Yes, the first day of summer showed no sunshine. Just grey weather, but the kids had a day out with school and it was still fun in the rain!

Wales shone and kicked in three superb goals. All credit to them and I won't be surprised to see them lifting the Euro Crown! Although all my support is with backing England! Go England! Did Prince William end up in the wrong stadium? I thought he would be at the Wales game supporting Wales! Love his stylish jet black framed glasses, super cool! I hope all the partying with the Dads of the world still had everyone making it to work today! Remember to have a Dad is to be blessed, but to have a Dad who remembers you is a Dad who will be blessed in Heaven! No earthly gifts can compensate the almighty blessings!

Hope you like my selection of accessories which is so fashionable with summer here. So dress up a simple t-shirt, sun dress, with gorgeous accessories and nail it looking glamorous!

Bloody Mary's For Dad.. Happy Father's Day!

Happy Sunday and Happy Father's Day!

A drink maybe your father or any male member of your family would like.

The Bloody Mary Cocktail is an acquired taste . I remember the first time a boyfriend ordered it for me , when I was 19 years old , he promised it would not be too alcoholic , made from tomato juice so it would be healthy with a little kick . I don't know what I was expecting it to taste like , but it was just horrid in my mouth . As the years went by and I tried it a few more times , it grew on me and now I don't mind having one now and again ,  that's if I'm making one myself , with fresh tomatoes .
It's indeed very healthy , with a spicy kick from the Tabasco sauce and the Worcestershire sauce . I would recommend everyone to try it . We can't get enough tomatoes into our body , it's healthy and definitely a cancer fighting vegetable , from a Mediterranean diet where people live well into their 80's .
The Bloody Mary drink was said to be invented in 1921 in Paris at the New York Bar , a frequent hangout for writer Ernest Hemingway .

The Recipe for  A Bloody Mary Cocktail  :
4 fresh ripe tomatoes , blend it to make a rich juice
2 ounces of Vodka
1 lemon to garnish and a teaspoonful of the juice
1/2 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
3 drops of tabasco sauce
pepper & salt
a dash of celery salt

Hope you had an awesome day. Keep smiling!

A Healthy One Pot Meal In Record Time!

Good Morning / Afternoon / Evening / Night, wherever you are in your day, hope it's a good one!

Before I go any further, thoughts and prayers for all the people who have uselessly lost their lives in the past few days! Christina Grimmie, the Orlando victims, the little boy taken by an alligator at a resort in Disneyworld Florida. Today the killing of the MP Jo Cox being shot and stabbed in her own constituency in Northern England. Jo was with the Remain in the EU campaign. So senselessly losing her life, R.I.P Jo Cox. I hope people will now vote to remain.

For today's blog, I am choosing a one pot recipe to make your dinner time easy and nutritious with something healthy being served up quick. Enjoy the food and happy cooking!

Lentil Chicken one-pot

Ingredients:
1 tsp vegetable oil
2 rasher lean dry-cure back bacon, trimmed and chopped
2 large bone-in chicken thigh, skin removed
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
1 garlic clove, thinly sliced
2 tsp plain flour
2 tsp tomato purée
150ml dry white wine
200ml chicken stock
50g green lentil
½ tsp dried thyme
85g chestnut mushroom, halved if large

Instructions:
1. Heat the oil in a non-stick wide, shallow pan, add bacon and fry briskly until lightly coloured, then lift on to a plate. Add the chicken and fry on each side until lightly brown. Set aside with the bacon. Tip onion and garlic into the pan and cook for 5 minutes. Stir in the flour and tomato purée, then stir over a low heat for 2-3 minutes. Add the wine, stock, lentils and thyme. Bring to the boil, reduce the heat, cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
2. Stir in the mushrooms. Add the bacon and chicken, pushing them under the liquid. Cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until lentils are tender and the chicken cooked. Season with salt and pepper.

Cool Summer Style!

Happy Wednesday,

Outfit for a casual day . Strips are very popular and a long calf length wrap around skirt is perfect to combine with a crop top jumper for a day out! Tomorrow is ladies day at Ascot, this is definitely not an outfit for this occasion. But have a marvelous day if you're making your way there, and keep your betting sensible.
Accessories can dress up the outfit and make it more classy . A couple of bracelets , alot of rings on the fingers are ways to go .  A simple long gold- tone crystal body necklace adds a touch of old school glamour .
On your feet casual white sneakers to keep  the theme young but it could always be paired with some sandals .
A white bag is smart looking , makes a nice difference to just black and brown bags which I always notice , is what ladies / girls immediately feel safe with , and tend to use alot !
A list of the prices and where you can shop for this look is down below .

Happy Monday!

A begin to a new week, Royal Ascot Races start tomorrow with coverage on Channel 4 from Tuesday to Saturday - so who's celebrating? Will Ryan Moore be top jockey and better last years result of 9 wins?

Today the 13th of June, the Olsen twins Mary-Kate and Ashley turn 30 years old. How time flies! I remember them being so small on Full House. Yes, I am a big fan of them, and I love their fashion line! Today also happens to be the feast day of St. Anthony. Who I have great faith in. So for anyone praying for miracles - remember prayers are powerful and St. Anthony works miracles if you have the faith!

Here below I'm listing my favorite white wines and rose's for the warm summer evenings as you enjoy The Racing, The Euro championship (football) going in on France, or at any June weddings!

Summer's Trend: Stylish Jumpsuits!

Happy Wednesday!

It's mid-week and while summer is just a few days away, it's not always warm. Lots of rain and pretty chilly weather. Nothing like the weather I've been hearing on the news. Perth has had unusually cold weather with temperatures dipping to 7 degrees Celsius. Not so cold for us here, but very unusual for Australia. Sydney hasn't fared much better. A tsunami cloud over the city 2 miles long bringing thunderstorms, wind, storms. On the Gold Coast, gardens and swimming pools washed away. No I don't want to be living there! Maybe the people are too rich and need to start spending their money, lol. But with all this weather talk - we have summer.

These gorgeous, long jumpsuits will keep you looking really trendy. Add a nice sparkly necklace to take a simple jumpsuit to ultra glamorous! Jumpsuits also look great for a night out. A date, dinner, and the movies. The most difficult thing might be going to the loo on the date. But getting out of it might be a problem so stick with it on first & second dates. You don't want to rush anything 'till you know the person better!

2. Kaley wrap lace suit / 18 pounds / boohoo.com
3. Black wrap batwing suit / 23 pounds / newlook.com
4. Monochrome jumpsuit / 23 pounds / newlook.com

On that note, have an awesome day and keep smiling!

Six Great Summer Fragrances!

The one thing that would really set you apart from everyone else , and have you remembered is , if you smelt really , really nice . Every woman takes pride in dressing up nicely , having great make up , a fancy hair style and don't forget the shoes :) but at the heart of everything when your just kicking back and all your clothes are off , and the hairstyle 's gone messy the make-ups all washed off , you still want to smell good . It's the basic of getting dressed spritz on the perfume , behind the ears , between the breasts and the wrists all my favourite spots :)
I just want to share with you six great perfumes for summer , they are all flower based , and I absolutely adore them all .
My favourite has the very suitable name of "Very Irresistible " from Givenchy . The smell is made from Roses and the underlying twist is , it's made from six different roses . It's a bit pricey at 66 pounds for a 75 ml bottle but so totally worth it ! I LOVE IT !!!
The next great perfume to try this summer is " Love Story " eau de parfume from Chloe . the flowers used in this delicate fragrance is Orange Blossoms , Neroli and Jasmine with a hint of cedarwood . It costs a hefty 65 pounds for a 50 ml bottle , but money well spent !
"Dolce Floral drops " costs 66 pounds for a 75 ml eau de toilette bottle , which looks absolutely stunning and smells even better , something that would look great on your bedside table even after the parfum 's been used up . It's made from daffodils , lilies and papaya flowers with a hint of musk and sandalwood .
The 100 ml bottle of Jimmy Choo's eau de parfum "Blossom "is priced at 62 pounds it's made from roses and sweet peas with a hint of sandalwood and red berries . This has to be my second best smell and def.worth every penny .
Stella McCartney has her own fragrance called "Stella " . It's a delicate fragrance made from roses and peony petals with a hint of fresh mandarin and frozen lemon . It costs 57 pounds for a 50 ml eau de toilette bottle .
My last recommendation for a great summer floral perfume is the most expensive at 75 pounds called "Quatre "from Boucheron . It's a 100 ml bottle eau de parfum so well worth it because the fragrance lingers alot longer . I wake up , the next morning and my pillow and sheets smell divine , traces of my parfum are definitely left behind :) It's made from Jasmine and Roses with a hint of wild strawberries , lychees and musk .
I adore all these wonderful fragrances and especially with summer around the corner , floral smells are what your looking to invest in .
Spoil and indulge yourself , you only live once  . Get one of these , you won't regret it . The men will be flocking like flies ;)
Have an awesome day and keep smiling .

Peace & Love

Summer Dresses!

Happy Monday... Wherever you are in your day- I hope your're smiling ear to ear!

It's almost summer and dresses to keep cool are high on every girls fashion list. I have chosen out my favorite looks. I hope you like them. When it's hot and humid it's best to choose light colors during the day. Dark colors look lovely by night but should be avoided in summer.

If you are looking for a good throwback movie from a couple of years ago to watch, a recommendation from me is ''12 Years A Slave.'' I watched it this past weekend and it was well made. A true story and very enlightening on the plight of black people in the US not too many years ago! In the capitalist society we live in today it's not so unlike the masters and slave situation of those decades ago. We must make a difference in the lives of people today. For starters, much higher wages and a job available for everyone. Most all off, no wars!

Enjoy these dresses, but most of all, remember that there are people who have less than yourself. So be generous and give your clothes to friends if you are no longer using them.

Healthy Meals For Kids - Day 4! Chicken With Couscous

Evening all,

Today's healthy meal is a lemony chicken which is so flavorsome without being spicy so it's a dish your child and the whole family will not push around their plate or make excuses that they are  not hungry! Couscous is a kind of grain (semolina) and dates back to somewhere in the Ninth Century where cooking tools have been discovered which resemble the primary tool for cooking couscous. Couscous is big in North African countries nowadays but has been a traditional dish in Trapani, Sicily for centuries. It is wholesome, healthy, and soaks up the flavor of any dish you prepare and put over it. It's delicious which chicken and a little salad at the side. Enjoy!

Ingredients:
1 tbsp olive oil
2 onions, chopped
500g skinless boneless chicken thighs, each cut into 2-3 chunks
3 tbsp tagine paste or 2 tbsp ras el hanout
2 x 400g cans tomato
 with chopped mixed olives
small handful fresh oregano, leaves picked and chopped
2 preserved lemons, flesh removed, skin rinsed and finely chopped
2 tbsp clear honey
1 chicken stock cube
200g giant couscous
handful parsley, chopped

Instructions:
1.Heat the oil in a large flameproof casserole dish with a lid. Add the onions and cook for 10 mins until starting to caramelise. Push the onions to one side of the dish and add the chicken. Cook over a high heat for 5 mins or so until the chicken is browning.
2. Add the tagine paste, tomatoes, oregano, preserved lemons and honey, and crumble in the stock cube. Fill one of the tomato cans halfway with water and pour this into the dish. Season with a little salt and plenty of black pepper. Give everything a good stir, then cover with a lid and simmer for 40 mins, on a gentle bubble, or for up to 4 hrs over a very low heat if you’re eating at different times.
3.Add the couscous 10 mins before you’re ready to serve, cover and simmer for 10 mins or until cooked. If you’re eating at different times, scoop your portion into a pan, add 50g couscous and cook in the same way. Stir in some parsley just before serving.

Have an awesome day and keep smiling!
