Bank Holiday Fashion & Thoughts !

Happy Monday !

A Bank holiday weekend and lots of racing and footy to watch .. almost sounds like a fantastic day , only my day was anything but that ..stressful and unhappy but I guess we cannot be happy all the time ... laws of nature ! My children's dad is a piece of work , considering he's so old he never feels grateful to know me , which I feel very sad about . He's petty and I guess jealous about all my blessings . I remember a few weeks back I had said in a conversation Aries are born leaders and can be in control all the time and know how to run and organise stuff . Today when I mentioned I didn't like how he laid out some plants in the flower bed , he became thoroughly nasty and said Yes you like to be the boss and everything must run everything your way , it's my project and I will do it as I want it ! But he's never here to see the flowers . I think he is unnecessarily cruel and mean to me . Please be nice and kind to everybody, specially if you share children with them . We are here on this earth for a short while and if we don't spread kindness around , our short lives become worthless .  The pain you cause in this life , is a burden we will have to carry in our next , with love .

Some fashion advice as nothing makes me happier then getting out some pretty clothes and turning heads . Choosing this outfit almost certainly lifted my mood . Hope you love it as much as I do !

Depression It's A Serious Issue !

Happy Tuesday !

Sitting and watching the BBC documentary on Depression when well known people who have carved a name for themselves decide to talk about depression and how it's had an impact on them is somehow far removed from the normal person struggling with depression and trying to make it through life . These privileged people like Alistair Campbell can pop pills and say it's hard they are miserable all the time but still continue with life . Is he actually going out and helping people who also suffer with depression ?

Depression is a lot more serious and ordinary people don't have the money to be seen by therapists when they are at low points and suicidal ! How many young people have sadly taken their lives because the NHS is too overworked and are short on staff to take on the hundreds and thousands now affected by depression !  It is a laugh to see how all this money can help a rich person to have all these new treatments to help him cope with depression . I don't want to see a rich person struggling but what is done about the ordinary person struggling everyday ?

Yes running , music, keeping fit helps with fighting depression but do ordinary people have a coach , a camera crew motivating them to get up make money making a documentary and go about helping fight depression . It's not an easy task and an uphill struggle fighting depression . Neither Alistair Campbell or Nadiya Hussain's Fight has inspired me . I still have very low points and feel helpless , especially when everyday things can knock me down emotionally !

At the weekend while in the Netherlands at a local village's Feast- week ( a week of parties and fun activities for the locals ) I attended a bar's all day & night fun with a band music drinking and dancing . It was fun the first half of the day but the people got more drunk and rowdy as it turned dark and night fell . I sat at the bar, with a person of security sitting next to me thinking ,yes I'm safe , well it apparently counts for nothing because I soon had men coming and rubbing their hands all over me and telling me to smile,because I'm so beautiful when I smile . When I protested and said stop I don't like this, they just laughed and said why , it's not sexual, just fun . Oh and security said relax just drink some more ,come on have fun . Really ?? is that how women are treated drink more so you can relax and let men touch you up ?? One dude actually came and pressed my boobs , I felt sexually violated that night and feel quite depressed but ofcourse being a women there is no help or understanding . Oh yes and I was physically assaulted too, violently pushed because I went to ask for help behind the bar because two young girls were calling for a long time for first aid because one had cut her hand badly , and nobody was responding . Makes me sick to think about society and the stuff girls endure without any equal rights .

Today I heard on the news Jamie Oliver's restaurant chain has collapsed .Jamie Oliver was too greedy opening out so many restaurants and hoping to make billions !! Now he dares to hope for a Government bail out WTF ?? He should live like a normal person have one restaurant and live off it .  I can't stand greedy people . Actually feeling happy with the news :)  Cheers to the people who work hard and make do with small profits !  We need to think about others more and live happily within our means !

Tips To Boost Your Memory !

We all need to boost our memories , especially if we are a certain age , take on all the responsibilities , have children ,  the household .. Well we can do with , a few extra tips to boost our memory power .
I know if I don't keep a diary of birthdays  lately , lol I'm forgetting them . Yes had me worried , when I have the memory of an elephant :))
So I've done some research and come up with , some really valuable tips  to improve your memory .

1. Starting in the morning , brush your teeth with your non-dominant hand . This stimulates interaction between two sides of the brain , meaning new neural pathways develop , boosting your grey matter .

2. A handful of blueberries in the morning with your porridge ,cereal or natural yogurt for breakfast . They're rich in flavonoids , which increase blood flow to the brain and can improve concentration by 20% .

3. Have a Latte mid-morning . Milk can boost memory , concentration and learning abilities . In fact adults who consume dairy products five to six times per week , did far better than those who rarely ate or drank them .

4. Don't eat a large lunch - it will only make you sluggish in the afternoon . Food rich in B vitamins , such as Chicken , potatoes ,and bananas can help improve your memory and keep your brain healthy and alert .

5. Chewing Gum , sharpens the wits . Tests found people who chewed during memory tests scored higher than those who didn't . The chewing increases heart rate , boosting the oxygen supply to the brain .

6. Have Green tea instead of black . Chinese researchers suggest drinking green tea regularly could improve your memory delay the onset of Alzheimer's and fight heart disease - thanks to the key antioxidant called EGCG ( epigallocatechin-3-gallate ) .

7.Empty the dishwasher while listening to the radio . As we get older , our brain becomes less efficient at multitasking , yet combining activities like cooking while listening to the radio , forces it to do two things at once .

8. Indulge in a few squares of dark chocolate . Studies have linked compounds in chocolate , called flavanols , with improved memory .

9.Arrange a night out with friends . People who have plenty of social contact with others are less likely to develop serious memory problems . Research has found that socializing stimulates the mind , keeping memory and mental abilities sharp .

10. Get enough sleep . Lack of sleep boosts the formation of amyloid beta , the toxic protein that clogs up the brain , according to a recent study .

With summer not too far away , skin could get a bit greasy especially if you are a teenager or a young adult . Here are some great foundations especially for oily skin .
Oily skin or a combination skin are one of the most problem skins to have. If we don't use a foundation that suits, too much oil or liquid in the formula will have our skin looking greasy and cakey. To get the job done we need a foundation designed especially to get the job done.

When it comes to foundations for oily skin, it's best to avoid crème based foundations or blushers. The oily residue contributes to greasy pores. Powder based ones allows oily skin to breathe. Is perfect for your bag when you are away all day or on weekends. It comes with a sponge for precision application. The 10 shades are not too much choice, but all are very natural looking ones. This is great for touch-ups and on the go, and worth investing in. Great for oily skin.

May Favourite .. Garlic Soup Fights The Flu Virus !

Happy Thursday !

It's well into May and finally Meghan & Harry have welcomed their baby son on Monday morning , I actually expected the birth to happen weeks ago but the ill fitting wedding dress had nothing to do with hiding a pregnancy it was just badly made after all :) Congratulations to them both the baby is cute and looks adorable ! The name did surprise me .. why on earth Archie ?? Hope their next child is not Jughead ! I read somewhere that little Prince George is called Archie at home by family. Why would Meghan & Harry actually want a name that is already used by a cousin . Harrison as a first name would have been better ( imo ) but no nod to Grandma Diana .. I was hoping they would have given the child Francis as a middle name ( Diana had Frances as hers ) it would have been an awesome tribute !

The last week I have been down with a bad case of the flu and am just feeling a bit better so thought I would share this recipe of Garlic soup , which is a known remedy to help with colds , flus and viruses. 
Garlic has gained its reputation as a virus buster thanks to one of its chemical constitutes ''allicin''. When garlic is crushed, allicin becomes allicin and research shows allicin helps lower cholesterol and blood pressure and also prevents blood cloths. Compounds in this familiar bulb kill many organisms, including bacteria and viruses that cause ear aches, flu, and colds. Garlic has lots of properties to help boost the immune system, effective against digestive ailments and diarrhea. So nothing better than including garlic in your diet every day like I do!

Here is a recipe, (a favorite of mine), garlic soup, to kick start the healthy you! Enjoy and don't worry about bad breath, that is why mints were invented and mouth wash!

Garlic Soup

Ingredients:
2 heads garlic, halved crosswise
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
4 cups low-sodium chicken stock
8 ounces Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and chopped
1/4 cup grated Parmesan, plus for serving
Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper

Instructions:
1. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Drizzle garlic heads with oil. Wrap tightly in foil and roast until tender, about 40 minutes. Let cool, then squeeze garlic from papery skin and set aside.
2. Bring stock, potatoes, and roasted garlic to a boil; reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender, about 12 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan.
3. Let cool slightly, then puree in a blender until smooth. Season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle with Parmesan and serve with rustic bread.
