Five Make-up Essentials. Be Beautiful!

Happy Tuesday!

Today I want to talk about makeup essentials. With the number of beauty products available, it's a proper pain in the neck if you want to limit the amount you use. What are the absolute essentials? The other day I watched a YouTube Video and the girl kept applying so many products on her face it seriously put me off. I don't have that much time to apply all these products. Most of the time I walk around with very little make-up. I believe we are all naturally beautiful and we need to just highlight our features to look and feel good. Of course skin care is an absolute essential and we should not skip it ever. That means cleaning your face before bed and applying cream it's the holy grail of beauty.

The first beauty essential is a sheer moisturizing base. This is just common sense, to have healthy skin and a nice glow you need a good base. Cleanse your skin then apply a skin oil and massage it in gently. Allow it a couple of minutes to be absorbed into your skin before you continue on with your make-up.
The next is a creamy highlighter. A highlighter enhances the reflective qualities of the skin. It makes the skin look healthier, because its adding an element of a glow.
The third most important beauty product is a mascara. There is something very appealing about long eyelashes and mascara is a nice way to define the eyes with using eye shadow. When your mascara has gone a bit old don't throw them out use it for your eyebrows to enhance them and make them look thicker and more defined. If you can get a multitasking mascara like the one Mac has, it's perfect for eyes and brows.
A classic pen-liner for your eyes or liquid eyeliner and draw you the perfect line to enhance your eyes. After all, eyes are the windows to your soul. Use a nice black liner or if you have a very pale complexion use a brown for a perfect look.
Last of all, an essential to keep in your beauty bag is a natural lip balm or a lip stain to get some color. You could go for an organic lip balm in case you end up licking it off during the day. You can also use lip around your eyes and on the lids if they tend to dry out a lot or you have older skin drier skin.

These five beauty essentials will help you look gorgeous in  record time without spending hours in front of the mirror hoping to look beautiful. Beauty is not a look. Sometimes people are beautiful but not in looks, it's more in who they are. A smile, a word, an action. Be a good person. It speaks beauty.

Hope you enjoyed reading this and you have an awesome day. Keep smiling!

Love & Peace.

Delicious Easy Barbecue Sticky Ribs!

Happy Saturday!

Today was the 5th and last day of Ascot. The pinnacle of British flat racing. As usual Ryan Moore was top jockey and Aiden O'brien top trainer. Aiden is the best in the business and Ryan was top jockey because he does get to ride the best horses there is! He missed out winning on Aiden's Idaho because he chose to ride the Queen's horse, Dartmouth, trained by Sir Michael Stoute. That was a grand old prize of 225,000 pounds!!! But a very deserving Heffernan won on Idaho. But saying that I myself could not resist a bet on the Queen's horse :) A firm Royalist I am!

The week started off grand with a horse I was certain would win and it ended with me getting a win on the last race as well. A 10/1 Oriental Fox with speed and endurance lasted all 2.5 miles easily and saw off a Willie Mullins trained horse as well, no mean feat. But thanks to a friend I got in with Oriental Fox. It is true God blesses good people & I see God's grace every day towards me.

The consolution of the ITV coverage of the races was the fact they covered all 6 races and I was so happy about that. Seeing as I'm not a big fan of the presenters, they could all do with a overhaul come the New Year. Especially Chapman. Although he toned it down dramatically, his antics and talk remind me of any unruly bratty teenager acting up.

Today I am going to share with you a recipe; a favorite of mine. Barbecue sticky ribs! With summer here, I'm sure all you people love a barbecue with friends. This is a delicious and easy recipe and you will be licking your fingers. Enjoy!

Ingredients:
2 racks baby back pork ribs
2 cans cola
2 tsp toasted sesame seed (optional)

For the sauce:
8 tbsp tomato ketchup
8 tbsp soft brown sugar
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp sweet chilli sauce
1 tsp paprika

Instructions:
1. Heat oven to 160C/140C fan/gas 3 and snugly fit the ribs into a roasting tin. Pour over the cola and enough water to cover the ribs, then cover the tin tightly with foil. Roast for 2-3 hrs, turning halfway through, until the ribs are really tender but not falling apart.
2. Meanwhile, put all the sauce ingredients in a small saucepan. Gently heat, then bubble for about 2 mins, stirring.
3. When the ribs are done, carefully lift each out of the tin and sit on kitchen paper to dry. Tip away the liquid and wipe out the tin. Put the dry ribs back in the tin and coat all over with the sticky sauce. Cover and chill for at least 1 hr to marinate, but better still up to 24 hrs. Can be frozen at this stage.
4. Heat the barbecue and wait for the flames to die down, or heat oven to 220C/200C/gas 7. Add the ribs (in a roasting tin, if using the oven) and cook for 20 mins, turning occasionally, and basting often with remaining sauce. When ribs are sticky, hot through and crisping on the outside, slice to serve. Scatter with sesame seeds, if you like, and plate up with any remaining sticky sauce, warmed.

An inspirational quote I love "Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending".

Have an awesome day and keep smiling .

Love & Peace.

Get Stylish With Summer Sunglasses!

Happy Tuesday!

Spring sunshine and soon the warm days of summer, will find us all reaching for our shades. No we don't want last year's old pair, we should get ourselves a nice new pair. It  doesn't have to cost a lot but there are plenty of good designs available at the shops. I have selected a few of my favorites to give you an idea of the latest fashion now. Normally people invest in a pair of Ray-bans and use them for years. I think that is so unfashionable. Get something hip and chic and new and wear it with pride. You then don't have to be grouchy if they fall down, get lost, or scratched. Sunglasses are my no.1 fashion accessory and I never leave the house without it. I even use them if it's sunny and I'm looking out of the window (after all, I don't want extra forehead wrinkles!)

Botox is something I will never consider unless I get to 50+.

Happy Father's Day - Dad's Are Special!

Happy Sunday & Happy Father's Day!

June is a special month because we get to think about the man who helped bring us into the world although Mum actually carries the baby and gives birth she made this baby with the special person we grow up calling Dad or Papa or whatever  Dad is in the many languages on this planet earth . Dad's are special because the genes we carry are more inherited from Dad's than from Mum . We also take on our father's surname at birth and he is generally the person we know who keeps the roof above our heads pays the bills etc . Although with changing times all that I'm saying will have everyone up in arms because Mum's do all that now without help from Dad's in some circumstances.

Still growing up Dad's play a vital role in our lives because they are there ... see I'm struggling well let's just say my dad worked a lot we didn't see him that much but he always took us to the movies on Sunday , we had trips to the zoo and he loved telling us stories which he made up on the spot . I was introduced to books at a very early age and I enjoyed nothing more than reading & more reading. He was religious and I grew up with a strong Catholic faith and I have my Dad to thank for that. He spent a couple of years in the Seminary studying to be a Jesuit priest but always felt strongly about having a family, so he left and married my Mum and started a family. When we were little he continued serving God by doing Charitable good work and spreading the word of God . I am pleased to say I have met Mother Teresa on many occasions and received her blessings as well . Blessed to say I have also seen Pope John Paul 2nd as well , all because I have an awesome Dad .

Happy Father's Day to my Dad I miss him dearly but not because he's departed this world but because he lives very very far away from me and I haven't seen him in a long time . We have grown apart and as much as I always made the effort to go see my Mum when she was alive I had a close bond with Mum I don't do that with my Dad . I have different priorities , as a single Mum with kids .. my Dad didn't approve the separation as a Catholic he believed 2 people should remain together . Of course I think about my Dad everyday but today especially as it's Father's Day. And I thank the Lord everyday for my Dad , I would not have wanted another .

I hope you all made the time to tell your Dad how much he means to you and how happy you all are to have a Dad . I'm happy because I know my Dad is fine and is somewhere far away sitting back enjoying a nice action movie with a nice warm cup of tea , surrounded by his beloved books doing all the things he wants to do to make him happy.

Dad's are special , sometimes it's difficult to explain all the things we look out for from our fathers but just knowing they are there is comforting just like it is is with Mum's .Our Parents a special gift to us from God and remember he always chooses just the right ones for us , no matter sometimes when we think I'd rather have had someone else's folks . Have an awesome day and keep smiling . All you Dad's out there God Bless xx

Love & Peace

Be A French Beauty Without Hiding Your Flaws!

Happy Friday!

It's always a great day when the week is almost done and it's Friday. The weekend is an awesome time for family and all have free time to spend together; but kids they know how to keep themselves busy! Games, the swimming pool, and yes, down to the shops for some retail therapy! That's all the plans to keep us busy and of course lots of cooking is always involved. We almost never buy takeaway!

Today I wanted to talk about French women and why they appear chic, sophisticated, and always beautiful. French women are known for their legendary beauty. The thing I have been learning, after reading up about it, as well as speaking to a French girl I know, I thought I would share their take on beauty. With all the beauty YouTubers, it's all about contouring, and masking / enhancing features. And they keep promoting the art of obscuring your natural features. But don't you think there is something beautiful about waking up fresh faced in the morning? Those rumpled waves of hair, your natural skin tone, freckles, a few blemishes-- all these features enhances your own natural beauty. It's what makes you different. French girls embrace their dark shadows even around their eyes, they seldom use any concealer. I myself use little make-up and embrace the natural look with soft colors and light tones. I have been watching Big Brother and the first thing I noticed about Sukhvinder was her dark circles around her eyes and no make-up look. But as I saw her everyday she has grown on me and I truly think she is beautiful. Her special features make her stand out and she would put all those wanna be barbie dolls in the shade.

Concealer is perfecting and hiding. Why would you want to hide behind this mask. Dark circles around the eyes can be one of the most moving things about a human face. They can be quite romantic, they make a fresh face look interesting. You need to be more concerned taking care of the delicate skin around your eyes. Use a cream twice a day and a face oil for around your eyes is even more appropriate. Love your face. Lather on the creams to take care of your skin. Use a face mask once a week, one that is suitable for your skin type. And embrace the less makeup look. Many men have said a girl with too much makeup can be a turnoff!

Enhance your eyes with a black mascara for a simple but WOW effect. The biggest thing about French culture is to accept who you are, love yourself and the way you look and play around with it. Faults are charming and make you unique.

Hope you enjoyed reading this and helps you to embrace your beautiful self. Have an awesome day and keep smiling.

Love & Peace.

Five of My Favorite Fake Tanning Lotions.. Get the Glow!

Good morning / afternoon / evening / night wherever you are in your day, I hope it was a good one.

This morning a lot of you must have woken up to the news of the towering inferno in Kensington London Tower Block. I was shocked by the images I saw on TV. It was horrific to see these huge flames sweeping over the building. My heart goes out to all those people who have lost their home, their belongings, their whole life where they had a safe roof over their head. I pray God gives them the strength and courage to face the coming weeks sorting their life out. Everyone who lost their loved ones, family, friends in that fire, I keep them in my prayers #bestrong For all the people who died #RIP you all will never be forgotten .

Today I want to do this blog about the best tanning products available. With summer already on our doorstep and everyone knows going out in the sun trying to get a tan is not good for your skin. It's ageing. It causes sun spots and can give you skin cancer in the long run.

At No. 1 is the St. TropezGradual Tan In Shower.
it costs 14 pounds fifty pence available online at sttropeztan.co.uk
This product is so easy to use it's an absolute winner for me and my favorite. Just take your shower as usual, step out of the water and apply your tan. Allow it about three minutes to do its thing and then rinse off. Absolute genius!

No.2 L'Oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Self Tanning Elixir
This costs 15 pounds 99 pence and available at Boots
This silky lotion makes your limbs feel super smooth. A light swipe of the product over your skin gives you an instant healthy glow that would make you feel radiant. It dries quickly with no streaking and fades evenly. You couldn't want for anything more!

No.3 Clarins Instant Smooth Self Tanning
Costs 20 pounds and available at John Lewis
This tanning mousse is a must have for an on the go beauty who has a busy lifestyle. Just smooth on the mousse unto your face for an instant glow, while the clever tanner develops into a gorgeous long lasting tan.

No. 4 He-Shi Express Liquid Tan
Costs 21 pounds from fabled.com
It's light liquid formula makes it easy to blend into the skin. You should apply it with a mitt so it won't run over your hands.

No. 5 Dove Derma Spa Summer Revived
Costs only 7 pounds 79 pence.
This is the easiest and most fun to use. There are plenty of people running scared of a tan in case they start resembling an orange. This is a daily body lotion which not only conditions moisturizes and re-hydrates your skin. It leaves a subtle healthy glow. Use it daily to build up a healthy glow and after that every other day to maintain the shade of color you desire . It is a must have for people on a budget as well. Must say I have used this a lot.

Hope you loved my five favorite tanners and you head out to try the one you think would suit you! Have an awesome day and keep smiling.

Love & Peace.

Outfit Recommendation to Wear With Confidence!

Happy Sunday!

Today the weather was glorious and it was getting really hot in bed and didn't feel like having a long lie in, but the smell of coffee brewing is always a nice incentive to wake up. Plus, if you wake up later it's only two meals to worry about. I eat to live and not live to eat so its not a big deal. I prefer a lot of healthy fruit and veg to unhealthy junk food. But of course sometimes kids enjoy some of the unhealthy stuff and I am no Gwyneth Palthrow or Madonna, so my children are sometimes indulged.
Today it was great to hear the Young Lions had won the World Cup. it was an awesome achievement and after some 53 years it was the sweetest thing ever. After all the hung parliament news and another election on the horizon, it was very welcome. The young lads are an absolute credit to the country and the match looked exciting, although I only caught some highlights.
In other sport news at the French Open, Nadal created history by winning the Open again. Although I was quite surprised why twitter was full with people saying a bet on his opponent was going to be a winning one. Why would anyone bet against Nadal? He is truly one of the Legends of the Sport. Be a bit more clever if you ever consider putting bets.
June is a special month. Not only does it welcome summer and holidays, barbecues, and floaty dresses-- it also kick starts Big Brother on Channel 5. Its a definite fixture on my calendar and I enjoy watching all the interaction and general people behavior. I love studying people and if BB does nothing else they throw the most vulgar people around together and it's a recipe for fireworks. Although how on earth are they just ordinary people? Because a friend informed me they have all been on other TV shows. They seem terribly low class and the expletives are the choicest I have ever heard. Sinking lower than the gutter was Kayleigh. I don't see how her bullying of Arthur has been allowed and BB turns a blind eye. Arthur has walked today and won't be returning, tomorrow we are going to find out what conspired.

As you know, I continuously draw focus on depression, bullying, and self esteem. Today I saw an interview with Katy Perry and she spoke about why she cut her hair so short. She also spoke about all the suicide thoughts she used to have and the dark place she was at. Katy Perry is strong but the real girl, Kate Hudson, isn't. How many times do we feel vulnerable, defeated, hopeless like we can't go on? We need to speak about it. But I'm certain not many people actually want to hear you out. The world is hard but we need to speak up and say what troubles us. No matter how bad it all may seem, carry on. Because taking your life is not the answer. Do you really imagine running away from it ends it there? The world is a revolving circle of souls. We do come back to finish our journey each time. Try to make your life positive. Make yourself happy. Do small things with a positive outcome for yourself. Don't be forced by people and don't make your life about negativity! Try to fill your FB with positive thoughts. Your twitter with positivity and good fun stuff. Bringing people down is never the answer. Feel good about yourself be kind and draw good back to yourself.

Enjoy this fun fashionable outfit and look confident wearing it. Summer is about bold colors and accessories!

Pecan Nut Carrot Cake!

Good Morning / Afternoon / Evening / Night, wherever you are in your day - I hope you're smiling!

One of my favorite comfort foods is carrot cake! Funny as I am not a dessert girl or a pudding freak. Although I just adore eating cake and one of my favorite cake is ''carrot cake.''

It's healthy because it has tons of carrots in it, so you're getting a portion of your daily veg in. Carrot contains vitamin A so good eyesight is also being taken care of. This recipe has crème fraiche, just go easy on the cream! It has nuts too, so that's an extra bonus. So enjoy eating this cake and eating it without any guilt.

Ingredients:
For the cake
  • 175g/6oz soft dark brown sugar
  • 2 large free-range eggs
  • 150ml/5fl oz olive oil (not extra virgin olive oil)
  • 200g/7oz wholemeal self-raising flour
  • 1 tbsp ground mixed spice
  • 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 200g/7oz carrots, peeled, coarsely grated
  • 80g/3oz pecan nuts, roughly chopped, plus extra to decorate
  • 1 lemon, zest only
  • 110g/4oz sultanas
  • 25g/1oz raisins
  • 50g/2oz desiccated coconut
For the icing
  • 250g/9oz crème fraîche or mascarpone
  • 250ml/9fl oz double cream
  • 2 tbsp icing sugar
For the sugared carrots
  • 300g/10½oz baby carrots, washed, with 2.5cm/1in green stalk still on
  • pinch salt
  • 70g/2½oz caster sugar, plus a little extra
  • 50g/1¾oz butter
Instructions:
  1. For the cake, preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4.
  2. Lightly grease two 20cm/8in round cake tins and line the bases with baking parchment.
  3. Whisk the sugar, eggs and olive oil together in a large bowl using an electric hand whisk for 3-4 minutes until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Sift the flour, mixed spice and bicarbonate of soda into the bowl, tipping in the grains left in the sieve. Stir in gently. Fold the grated carrot, pecan nuts, lemon zest, sultanas, raisins and desiccated coconut into the mixture.
  5. Spoon the mixture equally into the two cake tins and smooth the surface of each with a spatula. Bake on the centre shelf of the oven for 35-40 minutes. They should be nicely risen and feel firm and springy to the touch when lightly pressed in the centre; if not, cook for a little longer before testing again. When ready, cool for five minutes before removing the cakes from the tin and cooling completely on a wire rack.
  6. For the icing, place all the icing ingredients in a bowl and beat together until light and fluffy. Cover the bowl with cling film and transfer to the fridge for 1-2 hours, until you are ready to ice the cake.
  7. For the sugared carrots, place the carrots in a saucepan and just cover with cold water. Add the salt, sugar and butter. Place over a high heat and bring to the boil. Boil for 5-6 minutes - the carrots will cook as the water evaporates and a glaze will form in the base of the pan. Toss the cooked carrots in the glaze and then remove them from the pan to a plate with a bit more caster sugar. Roll them in a little more sugar, and leave to cool.
  8. When the cakes are completely cold, spread the icing over the top of each cake and layer them up. Just before serving, scatter a few pecan nuts over the top of the cake and garnish with the sugared carrots.

A quote comes to mind from William W. Purkey, ''You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching, love like you'll never be hurt, sing like there's nobody listening, and live like it's heaven on earth.''

Have an awesome day and keep smiling!

Love & Peace.

New Trends That's So Cool Right Now!

Good Morning / Afternoon / Evening / Night wherever you are in your day, hope it's been a good one and you're smiling broadly !

The weather has been cool, rainy, and very windy. Thank God it was not me who opted to use the bicycle. I would surely have been blown off the bike today with the strong winds. Today is Election eve and it's Santa May who brings the presents. Remember, she's got almost everyone on the naughty list! The sick, the old, the children, the disabled, the police.. So think carefully before you go cast your vote. Vote Labour I say. We need some good change after seven years of austerity!

Now to get on with the trends that are currently so cool. You don't really want to miss out if you are fashion conscious.
This season, pink is fashionable. Get it going on for you. There are a number of different shades of pink, so don't feel restricted. There's baby pink, bright pink, fuchisa pink , and millennial pink. Lots to choose from. There are also a number of ways to put pink into your outfit, then concentrate on going for all pink. A pink scarf, a pink handbag or even pink shades! Glam it up with pink this season. Don´t be shy. Pink under-wear is big turn-on for some men!

Bralettes are trendy. Especially putting it over your shirt. It's being done currently but I would suggest not doing it if you are not comfortable with it. Power Hair. The kind that would be a slicked back. Something structured or an up-do that speaks 'I am in control' and 'don't mess with me.'
Go bold with make-up and color. Don't hold back with blusher and eye shadow. My particular favorites are blue and green eye shadow. With your nail varnish, don't stick with boring red all the time. Go for the new crystal nails and sparkles with frosting. Be bright & bold. Make a statement.
80s curls are very fashionable, but don't go for the perm. Absolutely not required. Just some curling tongs and plenty of hair products .
Shirts in 2017 have been in all year so far. But the trend is to wear them differently, buttons done up all wrong. Back to front or even minus a back to expose lots of delicate skin. Definitely subtle and sexy. Beauty conscience look for a good beauty routine for yourself and go for it! Use face masks, hair masks, and dramatically change your hair color and go for a complete different style. I have just done it and have never felt happier!
Neck chokers are the rage from black strings to brown felt bands, silver and gold color chokers are all available to put emphasis on your delicate long neck. Wear them with elegance!

Hope you have loved all the trends I've listed for the season. Go out and rock your style.

Have an awesome day and keep smiling! Let's all wake up to a Labour Victory and Jeremy Corbyn our Prime Minister. Nothing would make me happier. Oh yes.. Perhaps a nice snog with my crush :)

Love & Peace

Tips To Remedy Your Tired Eyes!

Happy Monday!

The start of the new week is always hectic in everybody's household I presume. So if my eyes refused to open today I guess there were more people experiencing that issue. My children ever the bright eyed bushy tailed munchkins were singing a song something about "I love potatoes, I love potatoes." Okay, I don't know that song but I said potatoes is for today's dinner! I think that wiped out any smiles of theirs. The little rice, pasta, and noodle lovers :)
So my tired eyes needed some attention. I'm going to focus this blog on treating tired eyes. There could be a whole number of reasons for tired eyes. Ranges from insomnia, overindulgence (too much internet surfing) to allergies. Tired eyes could show up with puffiness, dark circles and redness. Here are a few tips to deal with these afflictions!

The first tip is apply something cold. Rinse your face and splash loads of cold water on your eyes. If you have a little more time on your hands use cucumber slices over your eyes to sooth them. An eye cream and an eye mask are very handy. And if you use an eye mask once a week it both de-puffs and brightens your eyes. It is about coolness and 4 minutes of applying cucumber slices should be an immediate remedy.

Moisture for around the eyes is very important to combat tired eyes. If you moisturize the area before you apply your daily make-up, it plumps up lines and smooths out imperfections. The under eye area does not produce oil like the rest of your face. This is true even for people with oily skin, so please don't be shy about applying cream from around 20 when you should seriously begin a good skincare routine.

Massage is a very important task for your face. Just as our body benefits from the luxury of a routine massage so also does our face. Take time to gently massage in your face cream giving special attention to your under-eye area. A gentle washcloth around your face helps with the circulation of blood and keeps your skin glowing and reduces any puffiness. If your eyes are red and blood shot, don't hesitate to use some decent over the counter eye drops from your drugstore. If you have any dust allergies you could also get occasionally watery eyes. Nowadays some very good eye drops are available for watery eyes but they do cost around eleven to twelve pounds. So the best thing you could do is make sure you keep your hands clean and rub your eyes as little as possible.

Concealer is a very important make-up article that no girl could live without. Even if you don't have very dark circles, it helps any little issue around the eyes and any patchiness or redness. Use a good concealer or touch-up pen to blend and give you good coverage. Go easy and blend to give you more natural looking skin.Eyeliner and Mascara will help in giving you perfect looking eyes and correct any tired eye issue. Deflecting attention really does work and if you make your eyes look pretty it can highlight your entire face and get you looking stunning.

Hope my tips for tired eyes help. Most of all, do not drink too much alcohol and make sure a lot of water is drunk between each glass of alcohol to dilute the alcohol level in your blood and cause less of a hangover.

Have an awesome day and keep smiling.

Love & Peace.

Today's words of wisdom which are actually so true and I just had to share it with everybody, ''When you return to your old hometown, you find it wasn't the town you missed - but your childhood.'' -- Earl Wilson.

For me, it was my Mum and all the memories I have growing up! So a special thought for all our loved ones today living or dead.

Keep smiling! Love & Peace.
