My Most Loved Movies Set in Paris!

Happy Saturday!

The weekend is always a welcome relief. Time to relax, be lazy and not get out of your pajamas 'till late afternoon. Watch the racing on TV, lie back on the couch sipping some warm cups of chai followed by some cream cup cakes and scones. When eventually you get yourself showered and dressed, dinner needs to be cooked and then a nice lazy evening. Most would want to be entertained with a beautiful movie. At least that's what I love. And what better than a movie set in a beautiful country abroad to make you appreciate something different than your everyday movies set at home (USA or UK). Today, I have made a list of four of my favorite movies set in Paris. ''The city of lights.''

At 4: Paris, Je T' Aime
This is essentially 18 short films like one massive love letter to Paris. It has a stunning cast. Literally the who's who in the film world. Great directors because each story has its own director. The theme is love in each story. But its interpretations are so vastly different and if you don't find the time to watch this , you are seriously missing out!

3: Before Sunset
This is the second installment from a trilogy which picks up in Paris nine years after Jesse and Celine first met on a train to Vienna. The ending is a bit vague but it's intentional. It's clear that fate connected those two together for a reason. It stars Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy.

2. Belle de Jour
it's based on Joseph Kessel's 1928 novel of the same name. This 1928 fetishist masterpiece is way ahead of its time. A prim and proper doctor's wife who is secretly into some kinky stuff. She can't act out her fantasies with her husband, so she takes up prostitution while he's away at work. Hence the title ''Lady of the Day'' - a must see!

No. 1 Midnight in Paris
I adore this film, and have seen it a few times . This Woody Allen movie starring Owen Wilson is superb. He plays a Hollywood screenwriter who is vacationing with his fiancee's family in Paris, and inexplicably finds himself time traveling to the 1920's at the stroke of midnight where he meets all the manner of greats-- Cole Porter, Ernest Hemingway, Gertrude Stein, Pablo Piccaso, and the Fitzgeralds. The movie is a classic. Enjoy it sometime.

Well, hope you find time to enjoy my selection wherever you are in your day. I hope you are smiling. Have a wonderful weekend!

Love & Peace.
