Get Healthy , Energised , Clean & Lean !!

Happy Tuesday !

It was a cold and snowy day and if I didn't stay home all day , I can't imagine how I would have coped with all that snow. The Beast from the East is sooooo cold , but it was a good day ,most schools were shut as the children could not make it through the snow although most of the kids in the neighbourhood decided to go outdoors build snowmen and have a sleigh rides . The joys of being small and not have a care in the world . The best years !

When you are home you think of great things , as you sip coffee on the sofa and day dream . We make great plans to start eating healthy and smart without a focus being on losing weight . When you have positive goals , and choose food high in nutrition , you will begin to feel energised , clean and lean !

Here are some great tips to help you get started on the road to a healthy happy you !

1. Stay hydrated with water
Squeeze lemon or lime into your water which promotes alkalinity and wards off diseases. It promotes bright eyes and skin and offers a dose of Vitamin C.

2. Add protein to your morning meal
To stay fuller longer and feel stronger through to lunchtime, egg whites, linseed bread, smoked salmon and cottage cheese pancakes, and oatmeal porridge are all great alternatives to jam & toast, sweetened yogurts and cereals .

3. Eat a portion of leafy green vegetables every day
Eg. spinach, kale, and watercress. This gets your digestion back on track and restores vital vitamins and minerals which you might have lost with a hectic week.

4. Soup
If you have partied too hard, get back on track with vegetables based soups that contain no dairy. This will re hydrate you and restore electrolytes that can be lost after consuming  alcohol. It also fills you up and you are less likely to snack on a packet of chips.



5. Exercise  : Always remember to keep active the more you do to keep your body active the better you will begin to feel . You will also add at least 10 years to your life . By exercise I don't mean go out and run 10 kms and do heavy workouts if that's not what you generally do . No just go for a 15 minute walk each day . Use the steps and a little 10 minute workout at home is all you need to make a difference .

Any day is a good day to get yourself motivated to begin a healthy diet and start living a life to make yourself happy . Have an awesome day and keep smiling .
