When there is water on Earth, but it costs so much money, it's actually a crime! Somewhere on the news people are being overcharged for water!

If we could just afford to live a decent life, crime would fall and the world would be a better place!

Delicious Momos!

The weather is still so chilly for this time of the year. I'm so cold, still waiting on global warning! It's like the mini ice age will be upon us very, very soon and I know who is going to be rubbing their hands with glee! It's the top 6 electricity suppliers! lol I think I'd rather die of the cold like half of all the old people here in England already do! Anyways, BHS is almost closing down an going bankrupt but all the chief executives paid themselves hefty millions.. 8 million to be precise! But never mind there is a saying, ''money can never buy you good health.'' But with all the freezing weather and torrential downpours getting pelted with hailstones makes me think of hearty food! One that really warms me up and makes my heart sing is a good plate of momos. I don't know if you have heard of it, but years ago when I travelled to Darjeeling in India I tasted the best ever! So I learned to make them myself and I want to share my recipe with you. Enjoy!

Ingredients:
2 cups (250 gm) refined flour
1/2 Tbsp salt
1/4 Tbsp baking powder

For the filling:
1 cup chicken mince
Oil to deep fry
1/2 cup onions-finely chopped
1 Tbsp garlic chopped
1/2 Tbsp soya sauce
1/2 Tbsp salt or to taste
1/4 Tbsp vinegar
1/4 Tbsp black pepper

 

1. Mix the refined flour, salt and baking powder and knead to a stiff dough, with water.
2. Heat 1 tbsp oil and add the onion and garlic.
3. Saute till a little soft and add the chicken.
4. Turn around over high heat till chicken is almost cooked.
5. Take it off the heat and mix in the soya sauce, salt, vinegar and black pepper.
6. Roll the dough thin (translucent) and cut into 4"-5" rounds.
7. Take a round, wet edges and place some filling in the center, bring edges together to cover the filling, twist to seal and fill the rest in the same way.
8. Steam for about 10 minutes, and leave to cool.
9. When ready to serve, deep fry in hot oil till brown and crisp and serve with soya sauce and chilli sauce.

Fashionable Jumpers For A Relaxed Weekend!

The London marathon was today. How any would consider ourselves fit enough to run one? The men and women today were amazing running and achieving: the men ran and one point 10 km in 30 min! That was so inspiring for me! I consider myself very fit but every time I think of going to the nearest town around 10 km away, I always feel I need transport. Now I'm considering doing a quick walk, maybe it's not going to be in 30 min, but an hour to ten won't kill me!

The women at one point had a terrible mishap. At least four fell down mid-way, but one got up and rubbed her head - she started running again. She was the eventual winner! Awesome and an achievement! We can all succeed if we keep trying and live for our goal. Go all out, work hard do everything for your GOAL! You will succeed or else you will die trying and then it doesn't matter because you kept trying! I am working hard towards my one eventual goal and I will keep trying 'till I succeed!

Congratulations, Queen Elizabeth - 90 Years Young!

The Queen is 90 YEARS YOUNG. Happy Birthday, Your Majesty - Long Live The Queen!

Today, our longest reigning Monarch turned 90 years young and the whole of the UK celebrated. We are greatly honoured to live under the reign of this dedicated, hard working, gracious Queen who takes her role so seriously as Head of State and Queen of the Commonwealth. With her long, happy marriage to the ever charming, handsome Prince Philip - she is definitely an example to her grand-children and great grand children who are so fortunate to know their loving gran!

Today, as I watched all the specials of her on telly, I never saw her smiling as much as I did today. She is adorable and has the sweetest smile. Her father, King George, would be so proud of his daughter who has served the people of Great Britain so devotedly and tirelessly over so many years!

The words of Prince Charles in a documentary about The Queen which he took from Shakespeare in his tribute for his mother are beautiful. And if none have heard them, let me share it here for you.

Fashionable Spring Hairstyles!

If you spent a quiet day doing laundry, cooking, out for a jog, doing some yoga and meditation.. Then you spent your day doing exactly the things I did :)

Although, before I started doing any of the above I brushed my hair and decided to do something special with it. An eye-catching up-do is something that gets all the hair out of your face and up in a nice style. If the day gets warm, you will be cool as well as keeping your hair stylish because half way through the day no need to bun it up clumsily. Hairstyles are all the talk because our lovely Kate is now on a royal tour of India and Bhutan, has been styling her hair and has everyone talking. So even if your hair is not too long, do something different and make a statement!

1. Soft Spring Waves
Split your hair into two sections and tie them into high ponytails on each side of your head.
Get out your curling wand and curl each ponytail.
After cooling, take your ponytails out and you will be left with beautiful, soft waves.

2. Low messy ponytail with braid
On one day old hair,  spray your entire hair with texturizing sea salt spray. Work it into your roots to get that messy texture.
Take a section of the side of your face and braid it. Secure it with a transparent hair tie.
Take another hair tie and gather all of your hair together with the braid included. Secure it in a low sitting ponytail.
Take a teaser comb and lightly backcomb the ponytail to give it a messy look.

3. Milkmaid Braids
Do a normal French braid, but gather everything towards the front hairline and secure with a transparent hair tie. Repeat on the opposite side.

Loosen the hair tie slightly so you can pull the braid slowly apart. Making your braid appear thicker.
When you're done with both braids, cross one braid across your head and tuck the end of the braid under to hide the band and pin.
Cross the other braid directly behind the other one. Tuck the end under, pin and secure.

''Golden Years'' A Must See Movie Now In The Make!

Anyone who watches British television would know the lovable, down to earth television presenter Nick Knowles, yes I am a big fan of his and now he has co-written a movie script (just gone into production along with two others). The movie ''Golden Years'' is a heist film with a comedic element. It boasts a great British cast with Virginia McKenna (from the classic movie Born Free), coming out of retirement especially for this film! The male lead is Bernard Hill (from Wolf Hall and Lord of The Rings) plays her husband in the movie. There are an elderly, retired couple Arthur and Martha Goode who as fate has in this modern day world of injustice with the pension crisis and the elderly facing a life of poverty. Events contrived to force this law abiding, retiring couple into a life of crime. Refusing to take the loss of their pension lying down and fade away into their declining years, they decide to fight back.

With the invisible cloak of old they realise they might be able to rob banks and have their community and get away with it! The filming for this production has begun in March (a few weeks ago) all over Bristol. The Bottle Yard Studios have built sets around Bristol and a number of bank buildings surrounding St. Nicolas market will feature. Including the former Bank of England on Broad Street and Corn Street. The bowling club scenes are being shot at the Ardagh Sports Club scenes at Horfield common. More than 100 local people have been recruited to star in this production. No, unfortunately I am not in the film, but one can always dream a part will one day come with my movie aspirations!

Golden years will turn out to be a classic British movie with so many beautiful locations used in the historic Bristol city centre.

Don't miss it when it hits movie theatres near you and don't think about doing what this retired couple choose to do. We must after all, accept our impovished status and know that the rich will make sure we humble people will never come near their standards. The capitalist society we live in!

Delicious Roast Chicken!

It was such a beautiful Spring day with lots of sunshine and very little wind. When my heart feels happy there is only one kind of hearty food I love to eat - a roast chicken! It's delicious and juicy and my children love it! So I have decided to share my recipe with you all!

Ingredients
1 Whole chicken
Salt & Pepper to taste
1/2 a cup of frying butter
1 1/2 table spoon of onion and garlic powder
1 onion and 1/2 lemon

Pre heat the oven to 175 degrees C. Place the chicken in a roasting dish, slash the skin with a knife. Season generously with salt and pepper, and the onion and garlic powder in the cavity as well. Then add three tablespoons of butter in the cavity. The rest of the butter, dallop over the bird.

Cut the onion and lemon and place on the inside of the chicken.

Bake uncovered in the oven for an hour and 10 minutes depending on the size of the chicken.

Remove it from the oven and baste with the melted butter & juices (drippings). Cover with aluminium foil, and allow it to rest for 30 minutes before serving. Bon Appetit!

A beautiful Sunday, the sun was shining and we didn't need our thick jackets :) The socks came off and I have myself a nice, relaxing pedicure. A long soak in a foot bath with massage. Toe nails clipped and painted. No socks, at least 'till the weather holds out, lol..!

Then a nice long walk to the park with the kids, they got to practice their bike riding and my son is almost a pro now! Fashionable Spring Jackets!

Good Morning / Afternoon / Evening / Night, wherever you are in your day. I hope it's amazing!

Before I go further with my blog, just to mention it was very sad to hear the news about the passing of Denise Robinson from This Morning! She was the memorable agony aunt who was s loved by everybody on the show, the viewers, and me. I will definitely miss seeing her. She has a friendly, compassionate, outlook on life and such a lovely voice, too. You immediately want to take on the advice she gives you. #RIPDenise, you were very loved.

So the weather was lovely today. The sun was shining and a lot of people even ditched their jackets for a few hours in the afternoon. No, I kept my jacket firmly on although it felt very pleasant in the sunshine. The school was organized a two hour session for the kids to go out in the surrounding neighbourhood and clean up the streets. I thought it was a brilliant thing for the children to do. Teaches them about throwing less litter around.
