Consistency, Enlightenment, and Peace & Love

Happy Friday!

The Weekend is here and it's Chinese New Year! ''Gong Hei Fat Choy!'' That's Mandarin for Happy New Year. New Year's is always a time for new beginnings, so it's a time to celebrate. No, I'm not Chinese but I have some Chinese friends and I grew up not too far from China Town. I love Chinese food but not the fact that everything's made in China, lol. Maybe things will change soon and China won't dominate the market. It's the year of the rooster and that always has been a lucky year for me, so onwards and upwards!
Today Theresa May met President Trump, I was very surprised at how quick she made her way to see him especially as openly people dislike Trump here in the UK and the media is so un-supportive of him, yet Mrs. May keeps singing about a special relationship! Everyone seems to want Brexit, yet the excitement about sending an act to Eurovision today has me wondering, has the nation gone two-faced? The world seems to make me sad. I love consistent people.  We need to show ourselves to be strong and stick by our beliefs. It's what I admire in Trump. We should say what we believe and stick with it. The UK needs to stand together with Europe. The immigration that seems to trouble everyone is not the people from Europe but the ones coming from outside of Europe who then seem to bring their entire village and customs. If Donald Trump said parts of London are unsafe, let me say I'm afraid to go to London myself, it doesn't have the safest reputation. We need to learn to put our priorities in order and have a life plan. We should not aimlessly ramble through life. I wish more people would give meditation a go. Peacefully allowing yourself to think will bring you inner peace and inspiration. Buddha sat under the Bodhi tree (peepal tree) and attained enlightenment. Let's make it our goal this year.

Have an awesome day and keep smiling.

Love & Peace.

Ever Pondered - Smear Test or Not?

Happy Wednesday!

Donald Trump is making good on all his promises and that's what we want to see in politicians. The wall is coming up in a matter of months and having been to Tijuana, California, all I can say is it would be a good thing.
This week I was reading an article and happened to see more and more women are turning down the opportunity to have a smear test. The majority fear the discomfort and the rest are scared. I am one of the many who has never ever had a smear test even though my GP sent me many reminders. I phoned and turned it down. I am not one of the people who fears the discomfort and neither am I scared to get a result. I don't want to hear! So as a result, you would wonder where does that leave me and what are my reasons! First, I am all for everyone getting tested, well, if that's what they want. It's indeed a life saver and very reliable. When my daughter comes to the age for one, I would never discourage her. But here is what I think. I don't believe in all the modern science which is being funded 'till there is no tomorrow and everyone with the desire to live forever and somewhere in between people in higher places are forgetting that the population is growing older and unfortunately it is unable to provide for the elderly in society, no adequate funds are put away for elderly citizens, which is getting to be a real problem in our society.
So I feel if by some unfortunate circumstance I should get afflicted with anything, then perhaps it's the right time to go. If the question goes, but you have children, well this world isn't getting better and my children are not looking at a very rosy future with no problems in this world, and I hate the way things are. So sometimes I fear what is going to be in the fate of our young children, especially with technology in full blast. Will there be adequate jobs out there? What is going to be the future for the next generation? People are being forced to work 'till they're so old, they just about die at retirement. If not well before. How are the children going to get into jobs when old people keep hogging all the positions. Unless a lot of things change in the world, I will just be happy to live 'till the time naturally comes to go. So no smear tests for me, thank you very much.
If you do want to live very long and you have a wonderful life with lots of money and no worries, never hesitate to take the opportunity to have a smear test.

Have an awesome day and keep smiling!

Love & Peace.

Yummy Dessert - Sticky Toffee Pudding!

Happy Monday!

Sticky Toffee Pudding is a classic hot British pudding and it's a perfect dessert for special occasions. It is so simple to make and I want to share a recipe I use all the time. It's delicious, especially with sweet plump dates.

Ingredients for the pudding
100 gms brown sugar
175 gms self raising flour
15 ml full fat milk
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
50 gms butter melted
200 gms dates chopped

For the sauce
200 gms brown sugar
30 gms butter in little chunks
500 ml boiling water

Pre heat the oven to 190 C and butter a pudding dish . Next combine the 100 gms of sugar with the flour . Pour the milk into a measuring jug , beat in the egg , vanilla and melted butter and then pour this mixture over the sugar and flour , stirring - just with a wooden spoon , to combine .
Then fold in the dates and scrape it into the pudding dish .  Sprinkle over the 200 gms brown sugar and dot with butter . Pour over the boiling water and transfer into the oven . Let it cook for 45 minutes .
Serve with vanilla ice-cream or double cream . Absolutely mouth watering ! Give it a go . Enjoy :)

Have an awesome day and keep smiling :)

Outfit Recommendation for The Weekend!

Happy Saturday!

The weekend started with minus temperatures and believe me -9 is freezing cold. Two race courses called off their cards. Taunton and Ascot and if you were disappointed, believe me - I was! Flat racing went ahead at Lingfield, ITV showed Haydock, they even kept the presenters toasty in an inside studio (long time coming!) Anyways, one of them sitting at the table was not very complimentary of Jack Kennedy. Young Jack is a very talented up and coming jump jockey. This week he made an amazing effort getting back in his saddle after almost falling off. I was so impressed, when other jockeys almost jump off if they are about to fall! But was that chap dissing him brushing him off like ,hmm.. He's too tall, he's not really going to make it. I didn't care for his tone. Jack is going places, and you heard it from me .
Here is a nice outfit recommendation, which I'm sure you will enjoy wearing! It's pretty in red. The store and online prices are listed below.

1. Red striped long sleeve top with cami dress / 26 pounds / Choies.com
2. Polka Dot Mesh Tights / 14 dollars / Urbanoutfitters.com

You might just catch Bill Clinton's eye.. Did you see Hillary Clinton catch Bill undressing Ivanka with his eyes at the Inauguration? Savage Bill!

Have an awesome day and keep smiling.

4 Stylish Winter Jackets!

Happy Thursday!

Winter jackets! It's getting colder here in England and although temperatures are nothing like that of mainland Europe, it's still pretty chilly now. The style of jackets from the 50s and 60s is what I would have once upon a time called 'old fashioned'. But trends come and go, with a little modern twist and color it's so up to date. I could eat my words when I remember now, how I once told my mother those styles are so old fashioned knowing how much I loved 80s / 90s chic, lol  :)

1. Front pockets khaki coat / 25 dollars / Shein.com
2. Lapel ipper khaki jacket / 50 dollars / Romwe.com
3. Long sleeve pocket trench coat / 31 dollars / Zaful.com
4. Red long sleeve loose woolen coat / 50 dollars / Victoriaswing.com

All the prices and the online shops are listed. There, you can find these gorgeous styles and more. Happy browsing!

I just want to share with you guys an inspirational quote from John F. Kennedy which always inspires me everyday. "If not us, who? If not now, when?"

Let's make everyday matter, no matter how difficult. We will make it through!

Have a great day and keep smiling.

Tuesday's Thoughts - Mental Health Awareness!

Happy Tuesday!

The inauguration of Donald Trump draws closer, January 20th. It promises to be an exciting fun filled afternoon and I plan to be watching the whole event on my telly from 4 pm. Was Obama trying to make amends and hoping to do one good thing before his term closure. Today he commuted the sentence of Chelsea Manning. But she will only go free sometime in May. Theresa May laid out her plans for Brexit. It's not going to be an easy road ahead. For anyone and the country. I won't give any more of my views there because I hoped Europe would always stand together and not have England an isolated island.
Today was such an eventful day, besides all of the above, William, Harry, and Kate came out together for a charity event. Supporting mental health ''Heads Together.'' I 100% support mental health awareness. The more we talk about it, the easier it is for society to accept anxiety, depression, and suicidal tendencies exist. It is not an easy burden to carry and even though people say we are ready to hear you out, nobody is actually ready to hear anybody out , especially one with emotional weakness, anxiety, depression, and suicidal urges. It afflicts more than 50% of the population, but a lot of people put up a front for fear of being humiliated and told they were crazy and not be able to contribute towards society. In whatever particular interest they have. People in fear of being vulnerable, then become bullies, alcoholics, or have anger management issues or become out of control. We should have open minds and learn to listen without talking, judging, or trying to influence. You never know what you might learn. Give more support to your friends, relatives, and neighbors. Life is short, make it happy for everyone.

Have an awesome day and keep smiling.

Love & Peace.

Outfit Recommendation: Monday Style!

Hope your weekend was lovely.

This outfit for a Monday, when you want to look chic but comfy. Stripes are popular and a long calf length wrap around skirt is perfect to combine with a crop top jumper with long sleeves so you still get to have warm arms as the weather gets colder and mornings are so foggy.
Accessories can dress up the outfit and make it more classy. A couple of bracelets, a lot of rings on the fingers are ways to go.  A simple long gold- tone crystal body necklace adds a touch of old school glamour. On your feet casual white sneakers to keep  the theme young but it could always be paired with some sandals.
A white bag is smart looking. Makes a nice difference to just black and brown bags which I always notice, is what ladies / girls immediately feel safe with, and tend to use a lot! A list of the prices and where you can shop for this look is down below.

 1. Striped cropped loose knit jumper / 31 dollars / Blackfive.com
2. Wraparound skirt / 15 pounds / Hm.com
3. Gold-tone crystal body chain / 48 dollars / Macys.com
4. Rhinestone motif finger and midi / 13 pounds / Topshop.com
5. True Vans white authentic lo pro canvas / Shopakira.com
6. Quilted shoulder bag / 40 dollars / Yesstyle.com
7. Selina silver-tone bracelet set / 21 dollars / Guess.com

Have a good week and keep smiling.

Love & Peace.
