Goodbye 2015 ... You Were Amazingly Bad , But With Some Of My Best Memories :)

The last day of 2015 is almost upon us .. everybody is excited the New Year 2016 is about to begin in 24 hrs . As we turn our thoughts to how well  we did in 2015 what we achieved and how good a year it was for us , most people I guess are sadly shaking their heads all in agreement that 2015 was a terrible year and we look forward to 2016 bringing more joy , luck and betterment !
There will come a day to set yourself free from your own sufferings . Today is a beautiful day for such things #HappyNewYear
That was a quote I read somewhere today . Sometimes I wonder if 2015 was bad , why could 2016 be any different ?  I also read somewhere today the ELNINO is causing this terrible climate change all over Europe and The Americas , which will  cause hunger and homelessness .  Yes the government needs to know about it , lol .The North of England has suffered terrible storms and severe flooding . A 300  year old bridge has even collapsed . People have suffered great losses . Lots have wound up homeless . Obviously nobody cares . Tragic and I fail to catch any New Year Cheer while suffering is catching up  thick and fast ! Like I did for Christmas I am not going out of my way to wish anyone for New Years . Let it come and pass I shall just thank the Lord I am still surviving :)
So as everyone gets on with New Years resolutions , this new year I have decided not to make any . Unfortunately some of my best moments of joy ,  fun and laughter in 2015 were spent with people and things who won't even be a part of  2016 ! But Cheers 2015 you were a bitch but I had some of my best moments ever and I look towards 2016 hopeful :)

Check Out London's Food Scene .. 3 Great Places To Eat !

London is a great place for a day out , a bit of sightseeing and of course it is continuously being built to accommodate new restaurants , businesses and attractions .
If you happen to be spending a weekend in London , or you live close by and want to find some great place to catch a bite of some delicious food look no further than my three great recommendations :)

M1lk , on 20 Bedford Hill , Balham .. It's an all- day Cafe which is off the beaten path as you get on the London food scene and so worth it ! Don't let the line out the door stop you .  The Aussie couple behind this spot don't take reservations and also happen to make the best breakfasts in town . In fact so popular is M1lk that they had to double in size this year . Their brunch menu is delightfully laden dishes like the Sweet Maria , a sweetcorn fritter and halloumi extravaganza or the equally popular Convict , an English muffin topped with sausage, bacon ,eggs and hash browns . The coffee is pretty excellent too .  Dinner might be on the horizon as well . They have started hosting a series of " Lates " at the restaurant and are inviting chefs from near and far to come play !

Gunpowder ,  11 White's Row , Spitalfields .. This fancied Indian seems to be the trend in London at the moment with more and more modernized gourmet offerings popping  up right , left and all over town . One of the standouts , is this new spot that's serving up home style Indian in a cleverly restored ex-curry house .  Here there are small plates made for sharing like the Chattinad Pulled Duck and the Spicy Venison and Vermicelli Doughnut , the creation of Chef Nimal Save of the Oberoi in Mumbai . Fun fact the name Gunpowder is a fun twist as it happens to be located right near London's old artillery and is also a reference to the old classic spice mix of the same name !

Casa Cruz , 123 Clarendon road , Holland Park . This is Argentian restaurateur Juan Santa Cruz's very first venture in London . This is a restaurant with a very clubby feel serving up European dishes with an Argentian bent --ie protein heavy dishes like beef carpacchio and a perfect blackened chicken . With it's dark clad velvet walls , a stunning copper bar as a central  feature in  the middle of the dinning room and decidedly dim lighting . This newly opened eatery has serious sex appeal and is a perfect venue to rent as a whole for a party . The upstairs which includes a secluded and leafy terrace ( for London's good weather ;) ) is also  available for rent !

Definitely a treat and a reason to go out and celebrate the New Year 2016 . Check out these beautiful food spots and bring in the New Year with a  bang . Good food and alcohol can make you forget any troubles ;)

Delicious Pork Filet With Cream & WaterCress

I hope Christmas and Boxing Day was everything you hoped for and it delivered for you :)
Not only Santa bringing you all your heart's desire's but peace and hopefulness for the coming year as well !

Okay so we have eaten and drunk more than was necessary these past few days ,  but if only we could survive now without eating it would be a miracle not only for our waistlines but the thought that I don't need to cook now for a week at least ! That is not and never going to be the case .  We still need to eat everyday :(

So You head off to the supermarket and the thought is what is it going to be today ? I make a habit of changing it around pork , chicken ,  fish , beef and then again the same but I break it up every ten days with egg on the menu and a vegetarian day .  It's always different and fun . Nobody complains in my house :)
When it's pork though I sometimes get some pork loin filets and think , what's going to be quick easy and delicious ? I have a super easy recipe which you all are going to love , with boring pork it 's fun and so tasty . So I'm sharing  !

Ingrediants

400 gms Pork loin filets  .. cut it up into inch size pieces about 1/2 an inch thick .
4 spring onions chopped into pieces
25 gms butter
2 tsps of oil
2 garlic cloves crushed
Salt & Pepper
175 ml double cream
50 gms water cress
1/2 tsp of dijon mustard

Get your frying pan on the heat add the butter and oil when it melts add the garlic and spring onions allow it to cook for 2 mins . Now add the pork pieces and season with salt & pepper cook it for 2 mins on each side then stir in the cream and bring it to a boil for about 3 to 4 mins .Add the water cress and Dijon mustard and allow it to bubble for 2 mins .add 2 to 3 tbs of water to it if the sauce is too thick . It's ready to serve .
Eat it with mashed potatoes and green vegetables peas or french beans is perfect !

Christmas Book Recommendation " For Christ's Sake "

It's almost Christmas Eve and that means the presents are packed , the cake is baked just the last minute food shopping to do . Okay that's if you are celebrating Christmas !!
The Christmas story is all about the birth of Jesus but there has never been any serious suggestion that he was born on the 25 th of December or can we be sure about the year that he was born . Besides that ,nobody will dispute the fact though that such a person lived or that his life was very important .

I shall spend the Christmas holidays reading this new book " For Christ's Sake " by Glen Whittaker who has been exploring what Jesus may have been like as a person , rather than as a religious figure . It makes fascinating reading and has come highly recommended to me .

So now with the December Solistic over , the ancient festival of Yule ( or Saturnalia ) is dedicated to the remembrance of the maverick Middle Eastern preacher called Yeshua , who was the son of God . We are not sure when he was born , but the Romans disliked his horoscope so much , they tried to hunt him down and kill him . They got their wish thirty-three years later . After a few more centuries they translated his name into Latin , adapted his teachings and invented Christmas to celebrate his birth . Keep the Christ in Christmas . The Happy Holidays is more for atheists but God loves all !

So Cheers to Christmas , keep it holy and remember The Lord gives to he who is humble and opens his home and his heart , to even those who we classify as unforgiving . Love your fellow humans and look forward to a glorious year .

Do what you can to help someone . Donating to a charity is not the answer . I know a person who is stuck here in England  , his passport has expired , almost two years and  he has no money for a new one to go back to his country and nobody wants to help . Unfortunately I have no money to help :(

I suppose in England they would rather have people sleeping rough ,  being homeless , than helping them go back to their Country !

Delicious Sticky Toffee Pudding !!

Sticky Toffee Pudding is a classic hot British pudding and it's a perfect dessert during

the festive season. It is so simple to make and I want to share a recipe I use all the time .
It's delicious , made with sweet plump dates which is so readily available in the supermarkets especially around the Christmas season .

Ingredients for the pudding

100 gms brown sugar
175 gms self raising flour
15 ml full fat milk
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
50 gms butter melted
200 gms dates chopped

For the sauce

200 gms brown sugar
30 gms butter in little chunks
500 ml boiling water

Pre heat the oven to 190 C and butter a pudding dish . Next combine the 100 gms of sugar with the flour . Pour the milk into a measuring jug , beat in the egg , vanilla and melted butter and then pour this mixture over the sugar and flour , stirring - just with a wooden spoon , to combine .
Then fold in the dates and scrape it into the pudding dish .  Sprinkle over the 200 gms brown sugar and dot with butter . Pour over the boiling water and transfer into the oven . Let it cook for 45 minutes .
Serve with vanilla ice-cream or double cream . Absolutely mouth watering ! Give it a go . Enjoy :)

The weekend , a fun time to relax and unwind but sometimes , there are so many things going on that's a tough job to accomplish ! Nevertheless life is tough but we , still have to face things head on ! The best solution is , always  " Get Up , Dress Up and Do What You Need Too "
One way to forget all of life's trials is , get a cup of coffee and watch a movie . My movie night today , caught me watching an old thriller . It's definitely one of my favourite movies . I would say one of the  top five movies , I love of all time . "Shutter Island " with Leonardo Di Caprio its a deep movie , set in a psychiatric hospital . If you haven't seen it , make the effort . People here in England are not getting enough support for mental health problems . There still seems to be a stigma attached to people with mental health issues , it's just something I hear about on the news alot ! With today's problems in the world , everyone dealing with sudden circumstances being changed , I will not be surprised if half the population ends up with psychiatric problems and unable to work or function ! Give support to anyone who is brave enough to ask , be a friend , there are not so many left in this world ! If you can't find One  , Be ONE !
But enough sad stuff , a nice weekend outfit to brighten up anyone's day . Put a smile on your face and hope for the best :) MY MOTTO !

Tasty Snack : Pineapple Skewers With Mint Sugar !

Good morning/afternoon/evening/night  wherever you are in your day , I hope you're smiling .. kind of hard , but keep trying .
When your kids get back from school aren't they always hungry ? I know most young ones immediately ask for a bag of crisps , cookies and other unsuitable snacks . Yes it's easy to pass them the crisps ( chips ) but it's unhealthy unless , like me you only eat them twice a month :) Why do I even bother to be healthy and eat well and exercise .. I certainly don't want too !! However I have always eaten healthy , all my life so I unfortunately can't change my habits . The new sugar tax which Jamie Oliver is pressing for ,  is almost about to be passed , this is not going to make alot of difference in the obesity in this country . People who love sugary drinks and food will just continue to buy it for the 5p / 10p more . Well unless they plan to double the prices of these drinks it's not going to make much of an impact . Which again is unfair on people , who know that a fizzy drink now and again is not a sin . What about the people who use it just to mix alcoholic beverages ? Make everyone suffer , seems to be the order of the place  . Well sugar in small doses is never a crime . Enjoy this snack of Pineapple with mint sugar . It's not only for kids , make some for yourself and enjoy !  
So here's the idea for  a quick snack . The kids will love it , when they get home from school . It's cheap quick and easy and  I promise the fruit , it's sweet and so delicious , an added bonus it's healthy to boot !

Pineapple skewers with mint sugar .

You could make the mint sugar on a free day and store it in a jar away in the cupboards for anytime you need to use it .
Ingredients

A can of tinned pineapple
A couple of mint leaves about 20 to a kilo of sugar you can bottle it and use later .
Sugar
Some whipped cream
Half a tsp of cinnamon

Get your can of pineapples opened . Cut it into wedges and thread it on to a skewer .
Make the mint sugar by blending the sugar and the mint leaves in a food processor until well blended and is a lovely green colour .
Into the whipped cream add the cinnamon powder and put in a small bowl to serve at the side of the skewers .
Get the pineapple skewers sprinkle a little bit of sugar and let it grill in the oven for a couple of minutes . Add some more sugar and serve with the cinnamon cream .
The kids will love it !

Outfit Inspiration ... Denim Dress !

The days keep flying by , and Christmas is not very far away ... So the high street is busy with people rushing about shopping for gifts , clothes and decorations . Yet all over the regional news , Debt , is  all we hear about ! The amount of debt people go into over Christmas . So in other words , not everyone can afford Christmas , but then for me it never was about fancy clothes , parties or gifts . Being modest is always the way forward . It definitely teaches your children not to expect or demand , and I have the best kids ever . Nobody is asking what's Santa going to bring me ? I feel blessed they don't . Christmas is not a time to expect . Christmas is about kindness , friends , family ,love , generosity and a nice meal together .  I still believe there is more goodness in the hearts , of strangers , long lost friends and acquaintances than there is in family , who should be the first to stand by ! This Christmas be the kind person you all want to be , and the blessings will be plenty ! I just saw a lovely post on FB ..It said " Christmas a story about a Middle East Family Seeking Refuge " Yes Jesus is Catholic , but aren't we all children of God , no matter what Religion ?

On to other things , what's  in a name ? I say that , because Kim K , has just been blessed with a baby boy and the internet was going viral with her choice of name ,for her son ! So he's called Saint ! She's def. feeling religious .  North was bad not a good choice ,  Saint is a bit weird at first but I quite warmed to it , after a while . After all , nobody turns a lash at Madonna .. and it's my little girl's middle name . I love the Virgin Mary and I gave it to my daughter . I have a feeling Saint is going to become a  popular baby name in the months to come , and you heard it here first ;)
Now for an outfit inspiration , if you are searching for something to wear , or if you are going down to the shops and need a new item . Denim is always so trendy . Delicious Cocktail " Amaretto - Cranberry Kiss " Cheers !

Good morning/afternoon/evening night wherever you are in your day , hope you're smiling !!
Nothing says Christmas like a mouth-watering cocktail .. Make the holiday special , if you are having friends over , a pre-dinner cocktail , says your the hostess with the mostess like nothing else does !
So I wanted to share with you a delicious cocktail which I recently discovered ( it has my favourite drinks in it !! ) It certainly has a feeling of Christmas when you sip it .. Well it's a superficial feeling lol .. the true feeling of Christmas has to come from the heart !

The Cocktail is called  "Amaretto-Cranberry Kiss "

The tang of the cranberry juice is balanced by the smoothness of the amaretto and vodka .
This recipe serves eight people .

Ingredients

2 cups cranberry juice
1 cup vodka
1/2 cup amaretto
3 tablespoons fresh orange juice
Ice cubes
Clementines peeled separated into segments

Mix cranberry juice, vodka , amaretto and orange juice in a pitcher . Cover and chill until ready to serve .Make it ahead . It can be prepared 1 day in advance but keep it refrigerated .
To make two drinks fill cocktail shaker with ice cubes .Pour in a scant one cup of the vodka mixture made . Cover and shake vigorously . Strain into two Martini glasses . Garnish each with a clementine segment .  Repeat 3 times with ice cubes , vodka mixture and clementine segments . Your Cocktails are ready . Cheers !

Christmas Spirit With A Festive Jumper :)

Happy Sunday !!

Christmas is not so far away and there is a sense of festive in the air , but all I hear from alot of people is oh " I'm skint " , what a sad state ! Does anybody think about normal people during the Christmas period ? Well besides all the love and greetings which is free and offered readily , people should do physically more for others . Not that some people even know the hardships of their close friends . Not everyone wants to make out poverty street is where they live ,and feel like they are imposing on their friends , so it's often better to be silent and let the holidays go by without big pop and fanfare ! After all it is the Lord's birthday and the Lord must be awfully disappointed in the way people are ruining the beautiful world we live in , and encouraging War and disharmony . It makes me very sad !

But for everybody else with Christmas in mind and the whole Text Santa thing  going on in England , raising Money , but I don't know for what , lol .. anyways everywhere special Christmas jumpers are being sold and schools are doing a Christmas jumper theme with the Christmas Concert , so I've been off to get the kids Christmas jumpers . I also got one for myself  , can't miss out ... I'll wear mine everyday at home in the Christmas week ,lol . Yes I love Christmas but it's going to be very low key this year .. I wish I was fortunate , but a single mother with kids is not the way to go forward in life and I'm learning the hard way !

Here are my selection of some very gorgeous Christmas jumpers on the net for sale . Do get into the Christmas spirit , but remember never over-do it , there is always somebody who could do with a helping hand . I would much rather people who could afford quality stuff , instead of donating to Charity , help a family out . Find a neighbor-hood not so well off and get food , fruit or gifts for the residents . One family will do ofcourse , I know we all , don't have Mark Zuckerburgs wealth , ha ... Did he do a noble thing donating his 99% fortune to Charity ? Only the smart entrepreneur did not donate to charity , he just shifted the money to his own Charity he set up to combat paying taxes . Well nobody on the net has been impressed by his noble gesture :) He should be donating his money to actual people by helping each person set up a business to make them self sufficient and earn a living .And not expect returns , that is called donating . How about having a baker shop for every neighbourhood , nobody would need to go to the supermarket to  get processed bread , fresh bread and cakes baked on your street !

Money Makes Duncan A Sexy Beast ... Girls Only Need Good Underwear !!!

Hi and a Happy Thursday to you , if it was happy ... England's gone to War and has started officially bombing Syria . A very bad idea , but the world has officially gone MAD , in my opinion :) No excuse to killing anyone . There are always casualties of war , then they start with adverts saying this child has lost everything please Donate three pounds a month for him . It has happened every time the telly's on and a nice programme is scheduled . I am so sick of seeing sadness !
On another subject , Duncan Bannatyne has at last been booted out ( voted out lol ) of I'm A Celeb ... The Sexy Beast Has Gone !!! What part of him is sexy , I don't know ! Not my type he's old , not fit , no great looks and a saggy body !! He looked like he lived in the jungle 5 years instead of 2  and a half weeks ,lol .. but of course all that sexy part and tolerance towards him , stemed from the fact he's a Millionaire . If he had no money , nobody would find anything about him good and attractive .  In other words Money makes the world go round , the sooner people admit , it's only money they like , the world would have less hypocrisy . So money is a good thing , we should start with teaching our children about money and how nothing else is more important than money . They would grow up making less mistakes than we did and go after money with the importance that it has !
So Cheers to money and hope it comes everyone"s way , next year , instead of just the 10 % of society !
So if Duncan only needs his money to be a sexy beast , we girls who have none , only need some sexy under-wear to be a sexy babe ! First of December ... that means the year is already on it's way out hhmm not the best year by a long shot , alot of bad things happened in the world ! But December means Christmas :) Just 23 shopping days till the big day ! Yes for Catholics today is the first day of advent leading up to the birth of Jesus the reason for Christmas . Which always gives me hope . Christ taught us to love , be peaceful and love everybody . lets hope tomorrow all the ministers will vote in the Commons against bombing Syria . Nothing peaceful about that ! I wonder if the PM is Christian or knows anything about love & peace . I think Jeremy Corbin is the man and will lead the Country to great things and will  finally bring peace and advocate it .  If people are smart enough to vote Labour next time , the elections come around :) Anyways God works wonders , that is why Labour finally chose a man like Corbin ! So in spite of a bad year he has given us hope !

Sports Personality Of The Year ?? I'm Sure Those Same Names Were Up Before :)

Hi Guys & Girls  , wherever you are in  your day I hope it's a good one ! Everyday day I like to find an interesting topic to talk about , sometimes it could be a subject that interests you and sometimes not but I do know that the number of people reading my blogs are growing by the minute and I am very happy and pleased about it . Thank you very much to all my followers for reading my writings and I look forward to gaining more over time !

Today as I went through my day I read about the 12 nominees for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year and how  people could phone in with their vote . All very accomplished people are up for nomination , but  some of the people there are nominated every year ? Looks like I see the same names often :( How come , I hardly see top jockeys nominated for all their accomplishments and everyday dedication to the sport .Are they not worthy of a sports Personality Nomination ? Lets not talk about the risk they take everyday , they get on a horse thundering down the racecourse . Jumping over hurdles taking great falls and getting injured all the time . I don't know how well they are paid , but I reckon every cent is worth it's weight in Gold . I often wonder why footballers are treated like Gods paid sinful amounts of money but only play a few matches at the weekend  and have a big season off  ,having luxury holidays , May to August ??  Jockeys ride everyday , almost six hours , seven days a week , travel great distances to racecourses all over England , just for the day , train all the time,  ride horses in their spare time and almost have no life outside of  what they do . Shouldn't they be nominated for a sports personality of the year after working so hard . Yes one jockey does get a title within the sport by becoming Champion Jockey of the season , by winning the most number of races, but a nice title and outside gratitude from the Country , would be a great honour even if it's only me who thinks so !!
Do they wait till the jockey is old and retired before some  kind of honour  is given ? I would love to see the likes of Ryan Moore , Sylvester De Sousa nominated and not to forget Richard Hughes who retired this year and has set up his own stables and training horses . Horse Racing is also a sport , we should not forget !

The new movie made about Champion Jockey AP McCoy is very well done and heartwarming to watch . If you have the time it's worth viewing . You don't need to be a horse racing fan to enjoy the movie , it's a story about his life , dedication , injuries , personal battles and accomplishments , with nice horse racing moments  . Being AP is a masterpiece and I loved it , don't miss it , if it's showing at a place close to you .  Yes he does bear more than a passing resemblance to Rob Brydon but that's where their similarities end :)

That's my thought for today , All sports people should be recognized for achievements . After all we want our children to have good role models ,  people who work hard and show great dedication !

Eight Of The Best Veggies :)

Happy Sunday !! It's been cold and very rainy here just the kind of day when you want to relax all day in pajamas and not get dressed up at all . How is it that , the lovely flannel pj's from Primark keep you so warm yet normal clothes with a sweater have you so cold ,  all you do is sit still shivering feeling glum , lol .. Oh yes the heating's hardly on , because the bloody suppliers charge so much , normal people can hardly afford the bills !!! What does the government do ? Nothing , they allow the big six to charge whatever prices they want and they turn a blind eye .. Yet there is such a thing as minimum wage , how about maximum anything ? Crooked world we live in and we can't do anything about it , lol ..

But a  thought about the eight best vegetables around , we could eat this winter , to get us healthy so our body is fit and able to cope with the cold winter months . Even though a lot of people are not fans of veggies , you could cook up some hearty meals to satisfy yourself and keep you warm . These are my favourites and I cook them up in almost everything !

1) Spinach : 2 cal , It's high in fiber , protein ,calcium ,iron , magnesium , potassium and vitamins A ,C , E , K and B6 as well as high in sodium . The best ways to eat it is raw , in salads stir-fried or cooked in a curry .

2) Red Bell Pepper : 30 cal , high in fiber , potassium and vitamins A ,C ,K , D and B6 . High in natural sugars it is best eaten raw , or in salads , roasted or stir-fried .

3) Red Onions : 44 cal , high in fiber , potassium and vitamins C and B6 . They are high in natural sugars . Eat them in salads , raw , sauteed or stir-fried . Aldi is doing a great offer this week 59 p for a kilo :)

4) Tomatoes : 22 cal ,high in magnesium , fiber , potassium and vitamins A , C and K . High in sugars eat them raw in salads , sandwiches or use them in tomato based pasta sauces . Super delicious !

5 ) Eggplant or Aubergines or Brinjals , wherever in the world you are , those are the names used and I particularly  love this veg . 110 cal ,high in magnesium , potassium and vitamins C , K and B6 . Eat them roasted ,  grilled or stir-fried !

6) Cucumbers : 24 cal , this veg is high in magnesium , potassium and vitamins A , C and K . High in sugars , eat it raw or in salads .

7) Cauliflower : 3 cal , high in protein , magnesium , fiber , potassium and vitamins C , K an B6 . High in sugars eat it steamed ,roasted or in salads .

8) Mushrooms : 2 cal , high in fiber ,protein , iron , potassium and vitamins d and B6 .eat them stir-fried ,sauteed ,or roasted . Add them to pastas , noddles, salads and casseroles !

Delicious Rice Pudding With Honey Roasted Pears :)

I love a tasty rice pudding , and with honey roasted pears it's super delicious .. A change to the ordinary rice pudding , which could be boring for the palate !
Thought I would share with you all , this scrumptious recipe to warm up your taste buds during the cold winter months . Desserts are more delicious in the winter , lol .. I don't know if that's only me :)

Ingredients

600 ml whole milk
4 pears
30gms butter
175 gms risotto rice
A good splash of cognac , white rum or white wine
4 tbsps of runny honey
1/2 a  vanilla pod
A pinch of cinnamon

Preheat the oven to 200 C or Gas 6 .Scrape the vanilla seeds from the pod , then place the seeds pod and milk into a pan . Let it simmer over a low heat until  the milk is warm turn of the heat and leave it to infuse . Meanwhile roast the pears in the oven for about 20 minutes till they are tender . While the pears are roasting , melt butter in  a pan add the rice and toast shaking occasionally . Add the splash of alcohol now and let the rice absorb it . Start ladling in the vanilla milk stirring frequently until most of it is absorbed by the rice . The rice should be creamy with a bit of a bite and it would take around 25 minutes to be perfect . Swirl in 2/ 3 tbsps of honey at the end  of cooking and the pinch of cinnamon . Add more honey if necessary .
Divide the pudding between 4 bowls , peel the roasted pears and pop them on  top .  Finish with a drizzle of  honey and cinnamon . It's ready to serve and eat ! Enjoy !!

Make sure you take a list when you go out shopping tomorrow, don't buy things you don't need!

Major retailers and their earliest opening times.

Boots: three stores - Liverpool Street Station, Piccadilly Circus and the flagship Oxford Street branch will be open from 12:30 AM. All the rest will be open as usual.

Tesco stores involved in Black Friday, which will only be the larger extra branches, will be open at 5 AM.

Sainbury's: four 24 hour stores, Lincoln, London, Colney, Harringay, and Bybrook will close at midnight and open at 6 AM. There are no other changes to regular opening hours.

Argos: 688 stores will open at 6 AM.

John Lewis: stores will open early at 8 AM.

Delicious Cocoa Carrot Cake!

Happy Sunday!
Brrrr, the weather is cold, with temperatures dropping below -1. And the only way to keep warm is a nice, hot cup of chocolate and some carrot cake, my favorite!!!

So, I wanted to share with you my special recipe, of Cocoa Carrot Cake. Hope you all find it delicious. So here goes and have fun making it.

Ingredients:

• 1/3cup of cooking oil
• 1 cup of granulated sugar
• 1 1/2 cup of carrots (grated)
• 1 cup of boiling water
• 1 tsp of salt
• 1 1/2 tsp of baking soda
• 1 1/2 of white wheat flour
• 1 tsp of ground cinnamon 
• 1/2 cup of cocoa

Instructions:

1. Prepare a mixing bowl. Put the sugar, oil, and carrots in it. Put some water into the mix. Set it aside for now. Get another bowl and toss in the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and cocoa. Add some salt too. Add this to the mixture in the other bowl. Mix this and pour into a pan. An 8'' inch pan is recommended.

2. Bake the cake at a temperature of 350 degrees for 35 minutes. When it's cooked, add some cream cheese as icing. You can also use ice-cream as frosting. 

Hope you enjoy my home made carrot cake recipe. The fun part of baking cakes and making desserts is experimenting with other flavorings in the process. You could always swap the cocoa in the recipe and use raisins or some nuts like walnuts or cashews. Have fun and enjoy your cake!

My Friday Post .. Little Talk !!

Happy Friday !!

The days are getting shorter and winter feels like it has finally arrived as the heating must now be switched on and the kids need to wear a hat outdoors and hot chocolate with marshmallows is always the favourite drink after school ! The evenings are spent indoors and telly seems to be your best friend . If  the highlight of  the end  of the year is the same programme for you as it is for me then we have alot in common , no I'm kidding ;) but " I'm A Celebrity ,Get Me Out Of Here " is very entertaining and I hate missing any episode . It's always a joy to see people struggle , especially as they have so much more comforts , than common people . Yes they have to  eat and drink gross stuff , camel penis , bulls testicles ... Have snakes crawl over them get buried in a pit with thousand of cockroaches , and other creepy crawlies  yes it's fun to watch . They do get paid a hefty fee to go into the jungle , but it's easy to forget as they struggle everyday like us Common people , lol , with all our everyday hardships .. They can't cope with a diet of rice and beans , lol ..shows you how spoilt and indulged people have become .. I love my rice and beans and can't live without it , perhaps a little spice with it would be an added bonus . Spencer seems to have disappeared out of the series after just three days nobody said why and none of the celebrities are talking about it , seems suspicious , did he get kicked out ?? Although some rumor says  health issues ?? He seems like a fit young man , but every year  there will  be one person ( celebrity) who will take the fat check and run ..  wish I had the opportunity at a fat bit of cash :)
Lady C has been a stand out for me  , and although I have known who she was , all my life ,whereas a lot of  people did not even know of her . I did , as I have read all her books on Princess Diana , who I have always admired . Lady C , has taken on the tasks and challenges very well . She is outspoken and unusual all at the same time making her compelling to watch ! She has come through alot in her life , and I am always impressed with people who make it through life facing challenges and overcoming them . And No Caitlyn Jenner does not fall into this category . I was not impressed with her getting the Woman Of the Year Award ! Yes I looked up to Bruce Jenner for all  his achievements and the wonderful father he was to his children . Being a Woman takes a lot more than finding the right dress to wear ( like he suggested ) It's about fighting against discrimination , being the weaker sex  ,  not being able to find a partner because you are too old and not sexy enough , because old rich men only want young women . Yes what does Caitlyn know about all that .. not too begin with child birth , periods , mood swings and when that dreaded menopause will begin ... what the hell is  going to happen ?? My Mum is dead and I never asked her how it was for her , I only have the internet to go on .. like alot of other women !
Oh Yes , Susannah's big granny pants on " I'm a Celebrity " were very unfashionable  . A brave woman to show them off ,  and she's supposed to be the What to Wear guru .. I had to laugh ! Never go for flesh coloured granny undies , if you plan on revealing your underwear , for anyone to see . Go for something eye-catching , bikini hipsters .. now that's fashionable !

Violent Leaders Remembered , Or The Non- Violent Ones ???

Good morning/afternoon/evening/night wherever you are in your day , I hope your smiling !!

Today was such a windy rainy day but that is so normal for November .. Everyone is  busy counting the  days to Christmas , as much as I love Christmas and it's only 36 days to go , if the posts on FB are anything to go by , lol ... In November I always look forward to Thanksgiving first . Even though it's not really celebrated here in England , I personally love it ! Isn't it wonderful , to give thanks for all the things that happened in the months before . Maybe it was a shitty year but you can give thanks , because you are still pulling through , surviving and living , there is still a roof over your head , doesn't matter for how long , it's there for Now !! With my son's birthday always falling around thanksgiving , I just love the double celebration !
Many people love Christmas but forget the the reason we celebrate it , so today I was really surprised my little daughter tells me ," Mum guess whose birthday it is in four weeks ? " I didn't have to think hard , because of course it's Jesus 's birthday ! I'm so proud she knows ! It's wonderful to be Catholic and have Religion but it's quite another thing being fanatic about it ! In every religion there are fanatics and it's  not exclusive to certain religions , alone ! Within the Christian faith there are the Jehova's Witnesses who nobody wants to know . They don't celebrate Halloween , Guess they don't like people knocking on their Door ,lol ...

I was really pleased to read yesterday an interview given by the Dalai Lama , where he says to stop really praying for Paris . This is a Man made situation , and we the people are the ones to solve it .. Peace and Love is the way to go about it . Pointless now asking God for help , he is just going to be annoyed with the way we carry on and then pray to him for help !
The Dalai Lama is indeed a wise and clever Man , if only we implement peace , nobody will have an excuse to carry out evil on anyone .

That's my thought for today .. People are loving kind and generous , unless we give them cause to behave otherwise . Be the best person you can be . We preach non- violence to our children , speak out against violent husbands , but what do our leaders do ?? They encourage armies to pick up weapons and harm other people ! Some of the great leaders in the world , Gandhi for example , he helped India gain independence and he preached Non Violence . Mother Teresa a peaceful and great person who totally condemned War ! The only people who led Wars and fought are the Leaders who are thought of in bad light today . So why would anyone want to encourage Wars and Bombing ??

I have learnt one thing through the years , you never know where life might take you and everybody needs to travel light . So keep few possessions , and be a happier person .
Although no need to give away your stuff for free , try making a few bucks in the process .
Here are some tips to get rid of your stuff and make a few quid for it ! Money for your throwaways .. Remember shoes and bags are also very sort after , so put them up as well !

There are great fixed price sites , which you must know about , like Gumtree and Amazon . For auction sites there is E-bay . The benefit is how easy it is to use it . It takes less than a minute to list an item . Before you start listing sell a few cheap items to get good feedback ratings . There is also E-bid which is a smaller site , which has cheaper fees but you may get fewer bids because it's not as popular as E-bay with fewer users .

Top Tips for Listings :
The Title is very important . include as much detail  in it as possible . Most important is to learn the jargon  BNWT - standsfor Brand New With Tags.

Getting the Right Price : Always put a reserve at the lowest price you want to sell for , but start at .99p as it will get people interested .

Postage : Many people get caught out by not adding enough postage to their listing , however if your price is too high , buyers would not be interested . Use royalmail.com/price-finder to find the correct amount . When you send the item , always get proof of purchase and pay more for recorded delivery , if it's valuable .

Don't stay away from auction sites , because of security concerns . PayPal is pretty safe ,  and E-bays preferred method of payment . It is free to set up a paypal account and easy to check what is coming and going - especially id you have a smart phone app .  It also offers protection if something ever goes wrong , or an item never arrives . Handy if you ever have a dispute with a buyer !

Last you could always pop into Cash Converters on your local high street and get get some cash for your throwaways !

Prayers and thoughts this Sunday not only for Paris but for all the troubled spots in this unrestful world ! There are innocent victims caught up in the War Games being played .. does nobody think Peace is the solution ? I dream of the day when nobody wants to bomb anybody and nuclear weapons don't exist .. Right now this world is getting so scary , I don't ever want to travel again or go far from  my house !
I can't see the world getting better , all this is so shocking . Is this the world we want to  leave our children ?
People do want peace and as I read comments on articles in Social Media , I know people are tired of wars , and fighting and innocent lives lost . When Trump just gave a speech and said he would bomb them mercilessly . People don't tend to agree with Trump .. He's going to be putting alot of money into weaponry  , when the same can be invested into  health care , education , homelessness , and veterans who have suffered from badly judged Wars ! Much as I'm a fan of The Donald , I think I like him for his business acumen , his money making abilities , definitely not as a political leader !!!

But besides all that life does go on in our small little insignificant lives . I happened to dream about a friend I have on FB , lol .. Yes it took me by surprise because I don't have sexual dreams and certainly not where I'm getting close with someone whose a casual friend :) Yes I think he's awesome , smart , travels alot and very clever but JL I think you're out of my league :(( Dreams though are Good ... and if we can't dream , life would be pretty dull !

I just finished watching an incredible movie , one I never grow tired of seeing every few years . It is a modern day classic , although it's now made a good few years ago and I was just marveling at how young Kevin Costner looks in it !! Yes it's "Robin Hood , Prince of Thieves "such a wonderful  movie and def. one of my favourites .
I just stopped to think ,we desperately need a modern day Robin Hood in these hard days ,with all the poverty in this country and the situation getting worse all the time , the evil  sheriff of Nottingham somehow reminds me of our " wonderful " PM and his mates ruining the Country , lol ...
Back to  the movie , I love it , for the wonderful dialogue and especially the role of Morgen Freeman as Azeem ( the Painted Man ) I think this is the best version of Robin Hood ever made and a classic theme song to boot ! Now I just have to see Sherwood forest with my own two eyes .. never been there :(  I wonder how many people who live in England almost their whole life and have never seen parts of it , such a shame must be the lack of money everyone has, so we can't travel and see the Country we live in . Truly the world sucks , but I'm still taking it a day at a time :)

My Sunday thought was for women all over the world . I have been thinking , women are seen as the weaker sex ,  they suffer inequality and ageism in spades . As I get older I seem to notice it more . It seems if your older than 35 nobody wants to know old women anymore ,be it if you're out seeking a job or if you happen to be looking for a partner . You tend to get overlooked !
Why is this ? People need to change their views ! The older the women the more reliable . So a friend of mine is looking for a job and she sends out at least 50/60 CV's a week and nobody calls her for interviews , oh yes she's old remember in her 40's , lol ..but a couple of young girls I know get called up regularly for interviews after just two or three CVS's go out a week , lol .. oh yes we mustn't forget they are 19/ 20/ 21 and oh so YOUNG !! Bloody hell ,  I feel sick to my stomach at the condition of women in this day and age .
Maybe the World has ended , just like all those doomsday mongers keep saying  ... ONLY it ended and we walked into  a different dimension where all this bullshit is not seen  as deplorable and our leaders  are revered for being dick-heads and ready to wage wars , and press nuclear buttons ! The world has truly gone Mad !
But  we still need to get dressed and need inspiration for some great clothes and ideas for expanding our wardrobe and getting ready in the morning ! Jeans are great  , pair it with a stylish blouse and only a sexist , against women would say you can't wear it to work ;)
